Coffee Break #33 - Let's Go Lily!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

oh you poor thing... hope you have heat soon!!!!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Are you staying in your house without heat???

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Allison - cute videos! and congrats on the seedlings!! Woohoo!!

Celeste - love the green dresses....same color we had in my older sister's wedding in May (quite a few years ago!) My Mom grew orchids so we had bouquets of colorful orchids....very pretty. I like the dress style you're looking for. I'll bet you can have a good seamstress duplicate that dress in the color you want. What color are you thinking about? Ahhhhh, another wedding.....I guess we'll have to have another RU right before it to keep you from getting too jittery!! LOL

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

thanks Louise.. yes maybe have to have another RU to keep the tradition going

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Yupper flowerjen. The furnace still makes heat but there is no fan so it doesn't circulate. The house is about 45-50F which is a tad nippy unless you are running laps or doing jumping jacks which is difficult to do when you're dressed like the Michelin man.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

So you're just waiting for a fan replacement?

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Nope the whole puppy. It's one of those old monster open flame octipii types that is SO not energy efficient (although it looks cool).

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ouch. Good luck! Hope it is installed soon.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Me too!

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

Dnut..those portable electric heaters work great and are not too expensive at Walmart til you get it fixed. I'm just so bummed thinking of you without heat.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

We are using 2 already jadajoy. One in the bedroom and one in the living room but we can't run them too high or they blow the fuses. Did you guess we have an old house yet? (snort) Also I always unplug them when DH isn't around cuz I'm afraid they will start a fire. I'm ok in my michelin man attire. I'm baking tons cuz 1) baking makes heat from the oven 2) eating yummy baked goods makes you feel warm. Made some droool banana breads on Sunday (after I polished off the brownies on Saturday of course).

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Glad your back D-nut...you've been missed! Sorry the furnace is still broke...sending warm thoughts your way. Oh, look at this beautiful dahlia pic Luvs posted it will warm ya right up!! http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=7579508

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Another heart attack for Cheney!! I told you that he and Clinton are bankrupting us!!

Report the other day that one baby aspirin helps prevent breast cancer.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Luvs has the most beautious dahlias, doesn't she? Thanks pixie. Going over to catch up on that thread right now!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I saw that report too, and have wanted to look into it more.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Baby aspiring is a good idea for many reasons. I take it daily.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I am enjoying an after dinner drink of Amaretto - salud!!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Feeling a little 'nutty' tonight victor? LOL

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes! I like Amaretto, though not as much as Bailey's and anisette.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Oh Anisette! Surprised you like that...not many people like the taste of Black Licorice. ^_^

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I love it!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I used too......... LOL

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Ice cold....used to put it in the freezer!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'll have to try that!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

It doesn't freeze, but becomes very thick.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'll make a pacifier out of it!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Hee hee he

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

baby aspirin and now Vitamin D to ward off cancer cells and regenerate new cells.

Baileys' is my all time favorite.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Been taking D for years now. It's probably the most important vitamin.

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

I think so too. Works in conjunction with A and some others.

Thomaston, CT

Hope you get heat soon, Dnut---my sister was without it for 2 days last week---power co. had to come & dig up a cable---they came at 10pm & finished at 4am--she was not a happy camper---I'm presently without telephone service---TV & computer are fine & they are all on the same cable---checked every phone---unplugged & plugged back everything---nothing! Harper & Victor, have fun at the orchid show---Harper, I think it was Wave Hill we were going to try to get to---you can come too, Victor, but it has to be when the gardens are blooming for me---I can just feel the wind coming off the Hudson at this time of year! Is it the Hudson? I'm like totally ignorant of the Bronx---make that all of NYC!

Thomaston, CT

Yes, & calcium absorbtion.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, a number of us want to visit Wave Hill. Never been there. Yes, it's the Hudson!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Louise, meant to tell you that Tarsha's main flower choice for her bouquet is orchids!!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

How cool, Celeste! Flashback time for me! When is the wedding?

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Sept. 5th..here we go again! LOL

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Oh, Cool! You have plenty of time to make those neat favors! and to get all nervy'd up. LOL Don't forget all that cooking/baking too! You've got it all down pat by now! I know it will be fantastic, Celeste!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

This is what she wants on the tables.....it's clean and simple.
