I figured it out when I read all the threads...duh. I hope I can make it too. Can I pay when I come? I have two pecan trees I planted in pots that are over 1' high and survived the freezes, someone wanted some. I also have lots of shrimp plants that have natuuralized and every one I've pulled one up for or even broken them off to root, has gotten plants started easily. It's like propagating wandering jew, it takes no matter what. They were on a list too. Hope to see you, thanks for answering. :)
Central Texas "San Marcos" Sign up sheet June 5th
sylguy.... I would like to have one of your shrimp plants....check my list and see what I can bring for you.
This would be a "pre-trade".
Oh and what is the 5 o'clock about? I didn't understand.
"5:00 is pretty early with the sun out so long."
At the top of the thread it says 12p - 5pm. Personally, I wouldn't want to stay late.
Yes, usually about three hours is all I am good for. But now I understand where the 5:00 came it.
I am sorry I have to drop too ... I am scared to drive that far alone ... I am broke too. I look forward to next year at the nursery also ... which means I need to start saving my money ;)
I will send the five dollars ...
Sylvia
Sylguy.... I would love to have one of your pecan trees. I have iceplant and Loblolly pines....which you can see on the pre-trade list thread.
Bluffles...I would love a iceplant from you, let me know what I can bring for you.
Sheila,
No problem on the iceplant....it's yours!
..I'll take a look at your trade list and let you know ;-)
Bluffles, may I have one of you Loblolly Pines?
Well.....just a couple more days....and we'll be there! Lookin' forward to it! See y'all soon ... Lee & Dee
Me too, how many people are coming? have you done a final count?
I'm guessing about 10 - 15.....we'll have a good time together!
I am getting the ribs, plates and drinks tonight. I might grab some fruit too.
I am bringing ice tea and potato salad, see you tomorrow.
Josephine.
We've got a cocoanut creme pie that we're bringin'.....also plastic 12oz cups...we'll stop in SM and get a large bag of ice before we get there. See y'all tomorrow!
I just got back in town, so don't know what I will bring, but will surely bring "sumpin"! See y'all there!
Tonya
bluffles What's your plan for the pecan trees tomorrow? Hubby will be here all morning. I'll go to the cactus show first thing @ 10am and spend about an hour there or less, I know what I need. Back around 11:30. You said you'd be coming via Bastrop. We're going to a play tomorrow night but will be around here 'till 6pm, so let me know what fits, or call me and get them Monday or so. :)
Jujube, I'm so jealous!!! Just driving in fr Indy 500 & haven't even got home yet.
I promise I'll do my best to make your next one, if you have one in the fall.
Ya'll have fun, be safe & know I am missing ya'll!
:~(
See you in the Fall Smockette.
Slyguy...Sorry for the delay. I have been swamped....I think I overbooked myself this past week :-) Last day of school yesterday for my kiddos!!!!
Would have loved to try in the am, but I think I may have to call you after the roundup...and swing by mid-afternoon-ish. Guessing about 2:30. Thanks so much!
Coming today with one kid two dogs me and DH. Plan to get there on time but may run late.
We will probably be there around 12.00.
Bluffles, got it , give a call and we'll hook up. :)
I would like to thank Jujube our gracious host for all the things he did for us.
He served us BBQ ribs and sausage along with grilled mushrooms and other vegetables.
The place was very nice and it wasn't too hot with the lovely breeze coming through the pavilion.
Attendance was small, but we had a great time meeting new people, chatting, eating and sharing plants.
We got home around 7 with enough time to water out thirsty plants.
Thank you again Lee, hope to see you this fall in Arlington.
Josephine.
The pavillion was nice and large even if the crowd was small, it was a great swap. The park was loaded with "school is out" crowd though and parking was impossible. It was a very nice area with fun things for the family to do. Jujube did a wonderful job organizing the first San Marcos RU!!! So glad we came and was able to meet you folks down that way.
Our visit was spoiled however by an accident. There was a ash dump where people dump their charcoal grills and the 5yr old GN thought it was sand. He punched it with his fist before I could stop him trying to break up the clods. He burned his hand in about 7 places....so we left early. Got him some medicine and he took a nap, as did we. When we got up we went to dinner and then decided to pack up and go home. We got back in FW about 1:00 am. Don't think we will take dogs and kids both on trips again! LOL! Plus we were dissappointed with the La Quinta hotel there...it was old rooms and missing some ammenties we had expected. So we slept better at home too.
The plants I transported are doing fine....I will connect with Anna soon and get hers to her. I missed one however when I unloaded I saw the Society Garlic she had for someone and I failed to swap it. Guess it will be available for Arlington RU in October!
Thanks Lee for getting this together. We all know how much work it is to put Meet & Greets together.
I am so pleased with the plants I brought home. I can't wait to get them in their new home.
Help me ID the person (s) whose plants I brought home.
Iron Weed - Josephine (frostweed)
Celery Leaf
Moon Vine
Vining Cilantro (would like to know origin of this plant)
Irises - are these Homestead varieties by chance?
Until next time...
Jerry

Te Ironweed is from me, give it sun and it will reward you.
Thank you for the wonderful vegetables you gave us, we had the German Johnson tomato last evening with out light dinner, it was scrumptious!!!
Josephine.
We got home safe & sound......really enjoyed the RU...although I felt like we just skipped in and was gone. The drive one way ended up being longer than I thought.....not a problem with the exception that Dee & I arrived late. Lee,...you did a good job for your 1st one! Lookin' forward to the next one!
Thanks, again,....to everyone for the sharing and fellowship!
I had a good time. I had to go to a "going away" party right after our swap and they had a huge shrimp broil. I was totally stuffed.
I would like to have an address or paypal info so I can contribute to the cost of the pavillion.
Sorry to have missed out on all the fellowship and fun. Mom turned 83 and I couldn't miss out on that party. I hate they were the same day.

We are deferring all costs to the next meeting. You will have to double up.
Thank all of you (Frostweed??) and LindaTX, who gave my DH plants to bring home. He took a pic and sent it to me here in Reno. They look great, and I am sorry I missed meeting everyone.....he said you were all so nice.
I will get to see the plants on the 13th when I return home. I am looking forward to it.
You are welcome Tonya, we wish we had a chance to meet you also.
Josephine.
Oops. Tonya (me) was there. I think morganc's name is Pam. Am I right morganc?
Tonya
Sorry then, you are welcome Pam.
Hey Frost,
The Persimmon is already in the ground at the orchard.
Still havent found a spot for the Elderberry and Frostweed yet.
Great Lee. I think they will all do well for you, the Eldeberry needs a little more water than the others. They are all great plants.
You are correct.....Pam I am!
