Lily, you're lucky to have the bbs on your suet. Looks like they're quite happy. I have them around here but have never seen them on my suet feeders.
Adel, cute but naughty furry critter!
Gary, congratulations on your photo displayed. That's an incredible capture.
JH, I'm so jealous, the kestrels are on my must have list. Great shot.
Flipflops, great pictures. Don't worry, with all that food if you step outside and scare them off, they'll be right back.
Burn, fabulous downy and hairy! Love the doves and finches too!
Hack, congrats once again on the lifer! It seems like you sure are adding them up quickly. Great birds, love the red bellied!
Rose, love your red bellied too. Looks like she rules too! Cute wren shots.
Red, cute bb pose there.
Sac. another cute BB!

Took this one of the Dark eyed Junco several days ago. My newly arriving Tree Swallows are driving off all my juncos.

This grumpy Golden crowned Sparrow wouldn't allow any other bird in the birdbath while he bathed.

Love all the Bluebird shots...our nesting pair seems to be spending more time defending their box also.

Duc...gorgeous shots all, that Gold-crowned in the bird bath cracks me up!

The sun finally came out today...wow...everything feels so much better! Here is a shot of some of the birds that were at the brush pile. Along with the Cardinals there is also 6 different kinds of Sparrows. Can you name them? The first one to name all 6 of them wins honorable mention!! LOL!

Great shots Rose. I love your determined (not mean) female Red-bellied Woodpecker. Love the little spots of red on her cap!
Aren't Carolina Wrens great little birds? Love the shots of yours Rose!

Red, Nice shots! I think your Junco is a female.

Sweet Bluebird sacar!

Lily, Thats so great the Bluebirds like your suet!

Duc, Good shots! I love the Oregon forum-Junco's!

Darn, Rose I only see 5 kinds. Bad eyes of course. :-)

South Hamilton, MA

Are dark eyed junco & slate colored junco the same bird? I hate it when the names keep changing. We always knew ours as 'slate colored'.

Marlton, NJ

They are all Dark-eyed Junco, just different forms.

Rose: Here is my thought.

House Sparrow
Song Sparrow
Fox Sparrow
White-crowned Sparrow
Golden-crowned Sparrow
White-throated Sparrow

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Yes, Duc. I'm tickled pink to have the BBs at the feeder. They've given me much joy. I made a feeble attempt at attracting more Goldfinches. It took them more than half a day for one to discovered what's inside the tube sock. lol.

You got 5 of them Pelle. We don't have the Golden-crowned here but there is another Sparrow in there...just not in real good focus!!

In our area we call Juncos "Snowbirds".

Here is a Blue Jay from today...notice we have shadows!!

Look at the stance your Blue Jay took, Rose.

And here is a male Red-bellied Woodpecker from today...did I mention we have SUN?!!

Pelle has to win somethin' for recognizing all those sparrows. I'm kind of glad that I don't have sparrows b/c trying to ID them would drive me nuts.

Gary, I am not at all surprised that you've been in the gallery 3 yrs in a row. You're pictures are always amazing. That's the best waxwing pic that I've ever seen. If you are not at least a finalist this year, I will be shocked. Congrats!

JH, LOVE that kestrel pic. WOW!

Rose, isn't the sun glorious. Wish it were warmer though. Your female cadinal looks so lovely. A small female just flew into my window -- about gave us both a heart attack. I think she's OK.

Everybody else, you're pics are amazing! I'm going to start the new thread in a minute, so hold your posts! -- unless your playing the sparrow ID game!

White-winged dove while you wait.

I've set out some whole, raw peanut for Blue Jays and those (others that may favor them). Also set out some orange halves for my "snowbird" Baltimore Oriole, but so far no taker yet. Just the female Cardinal's chowing down on the sunflowerseeds next to it.

Oooops wrong pic. that was a male housefinch. lol.

White-throated Sparrow
