Okay listen up. Some of us are thinking of a party to open the greenshed in April, any weekend that will work for the most people. Either Saturday or Sunday is fine with me. We can have fodder and water. We can have a plant swap, take care of any loose plant some haven't swapped yet, whatever you would like. You can steal stuff from my yard or take cuttings.
And champagne and or sparkling cider.
Apropos of Nothing v.9
Sounds like fun!
I'll take Champagne.... and maybe some cuttings!
I love that phrase, "You can steal stuff from my yard . . ." Spoken like a true gardener. :-)
oooh, what a nice opportunity to share your greenhouse first hand and to catch up with all the folks that welcomed me at the plant swap when I arrived Fall 2008.
Sounds good!
Sounds like we might have a crowd. Yippee!
We can wait for awhile to decide the date. So if anything comes up for any of you for a weekend in April let me know.
Oh maybe I will be able to come and finally meet you guys in person!
I am always in for a "christening" if it involves champagne! (Don't even mind if I have to bring my own!) Willow, I would love the chance to drool over your place in person, especially if the rhodies are starting to bloom. Name the day and unless the world falls apart I would love to join you!
I'd love to come too. :)
Pony.... You need to tell your sweetheart that you may have plans in April so he doesn't plan another party on whatever day Willow chooses!
Well if he does, I'll just tell him he's on his own. Hmmph. ;p
Goodie goodie! We have a party.
What fun!!!
A party??? Did I hear party? And plant stealing/swapping? And Greenhouse christening? I had my tinfoil hat on and it started buzzing.
Okay, don't want to be a control freak/butinski, but April 4 is Easter, and I have an engagement April 11. That's all that's on my calender right now, just in case you're still seriously wanting a party.

I guess I had better get out there and start digging..thanks Willow sounds like fun!
Hi Linda! If we head to Willow's, how bout if we pick you up? Sounds like you are in need of a "girls day out" after the last couple of months!
Hey Julie sounds like a deal Thanks.....depending on what date Willow chooses.
If Lynn were to come with, could we walk your bamboo? I know that she has been dying to see it, and she has seen our yards at their worst, so you wouldn't have to do any cleanup....
HI, TOO, LINDA.
Good to see you back again. It would be fun if you could come along.
Julie, I thought you would be outside by now???Not 40 degrees yet, right?
We could say the 10th of April for now and slide it if we need to re-adjust. Even unto May 1st if necessary. I'm very flexible. And yes pixie there will certainly be a party.
I have been outside! It's almost 40 now (39). Had to come in and start a hand warmer earlier cause I couldn't feel my fingers. Tackling the gully today... there was a sunbeam when I went out, so I figured 35 was OK. Of course the mist rolled in just as I started working....
Now I am in with a boquet of corylopsis that fell victim to the pruner.
Oooh, a party, meeting new friends, and a plant swap and a tour of Linda's bamboo, Life doesn't get much better than this.
"You can steal stuff from my yard "
It's not stealing if you have permission :)
G.
Well, I think we know that. It sounds more exciting the other way, though, don't you think?
^_^
You mean as opposed to "You can come swill champagne and then go root around in my yard with scissors, bags and mud boots and grab whatever doesn't eat you first"?
Stealing somehow sounds safer.....
G.
that would be Plant Pirates, swashbucklers of the soil...
I guess it's all relative. It's that champagne swilling that will get you every time . . .
Yo Ho Ho, and a bottle of rum. We be Plant Pirates!
Hey, Lynn - I keep meaning to ask how the sleep study went. Did you learn anything helpful?
No, I didn't learn a darn thing!
After champagne drinking we won't care.
I hate when that happens.
Swashbucklers of the soil! I love it! April 10! On the calender!
Apropos of nothing, I was in mourning because I thought I lost my felcos. :((((( Then I FOUND them!! Rusty, yes, but intact and now completely good as new! HURRAY!!! I 'dropped' them in the wallflowers.
Keepers of the Seed and Swashbucklers of the Soil. Sounds like a book in the making if I've ever hear it!
Pixy, You didn't drop your felcos... it was garden gnomes! The same ones that stole my 3 pound sledge hammer and finally gave it back by hiding it under my japanese iris this spring!
ARRGH!!!!
Gotta watch out for those garden gnomes!
Kinda tired of the snow. I NEED to get out in the garden!!! I left a lot of plants for the birds this fall, so have a lot of clean-up to do. Maybe I can talk a couple of my sons to come one day to help. Ya think?
Jan, I feel so sorry for you stuck in the snow! Wish I could send some of the sunshine that is beaming into my office this morning your direction! What a lovely day, and pooh for being stuck inside!
Thanks, Julie. Actually the sun is shining today and I just looked - lo and behold the temp is up to 39. Lots of melting going on. But, dare I say it, I think something is on the horizon for Sunday. I heard the S word.
I am guessing that the "S" word your are talking about isn't "Sunny and sixty-five". We'll cross our collective fingers and hope that they are wrong!
