Only bird I've seen snuggling up together are Crows.

I have noticed the crows getting cozy too! The Barred Owls were a hootin' last night...No crazy amazon noises tho.

PERTH, Australia

Too funny, Rose.

I watched this male House Finch pursue this female all over the yard the other day. He was working so hard to chase her and offer her seeds. A sure sign of spring!

Ha! I saw a poor female house sparrow trying to get away from about…oh, I'd say about a billlion… male house sparrows the other day. WHY do they all try to mate at the same time. Lots of fighting over who's going to get her. I don't notice that in any other bird.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

The weather is improving some down here... 2nd day we've gotten some sunshine. And this Blue Bird went inside this birdhouse and I caught her as she exits the house. She's busy building her nest maybe?

Done deal, I think she agreed and signed the lease, what y'all think? lol.

I hope so Lily!

Pelle, that would be wonderful. These birds are very family oriented. Watching them; seeing the male stands guard, while the female at the feeder give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. lol.

We are starting to see some bright yellow starting on the goldfinch (or should I say gold?) Also the male cardinals are really fighting.

Melbourne, FL

Mockingbird was singing very early this morning.....have not heard that in a while.

Marlton, NJ

I'm hearing reports of Red-winged Blackbirds singing in a lot of places.

Mashpee, MA

Mrs. Ed....I think that those house sparrows are just thugs all around....even during mating season!

Melbourne, FL

Spring flowers on the Florida Privet. The bees love the nectar on the small flowers, and the berries that will follow ripen in late spring. Last year they were ready just in time for the Cedar Waxwings as they were heading North.

That's a great sign!

I had large flocks of little birds this weekend. They move so fast it is hard to get a good look at them. Did see pine siskins at my feeder and one goldfinch and heard the house finches singing too. I think they all travel together.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

The male Eastern Blue Birds is bringing his family to the feeder pretty routinely this past week. There is this pair this morning during their 'morning walk'. lol

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

I personally am looking forward to the grackles in my yard digging for the bugs.

Jackson, MO(Zone 6b)

Nanny, I hope my grackles have gone to your yard!! :)

Gladwin, MI(Zone 5a)

We had a bunch of grackles too. We see them in the spring, only a couple stay around. Thankfully.

Melbourne, FL

Then I can look forward to ALL of my Grackles heading North? I wish!!! Maybe I'll catch a few dozen and send them off the Mrs_Ed.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Ha GP. I've got lots of June Bugs and japanese beetles, so bring them on!

Melbourne, FL

Here you go pelle, just for you!

The little beast is out of hibernation and chirpping for a mate. It gets in the crawl space and you hear it move all around the house. The war begins for 2010!
