Thank you to everyone for sharing their pics. There are some really beautiful shots here. I never manage to take good photos, so I'm envious of all these.

Sheila, your shot with the neighbors holly is postcard pretty.

Dennis and Josephine
I'm glad to know y'all are warm and ok :)Enjoy the winter wonderland.

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

It is my daughter's 6th birthday tomorrow. This is certainly making it memorable... the birthday we all had a sleepover at nana and pa's house. :)

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Dennis glad to know you and the family are warm tonight and making memories for the little one. Josephine, hope your electricity is on soon. Love the pictures of your propery, hate to see the oak damage. The plum is beautiful.
Catsgalore....laughing at the pic of Echo in the snow.
Dale, glad the flight house didn't have the trees near it. Hope your elm hangs on too.
Ken...hope the snow melts soon on the hoop house and causes no damage. The snow gives Maggie's Magic Garden sign new meaning.
Carla...sorry your Crepe Myrtle tree was damaged; yes this is really a memorable awing experience.
Phyllis...can't say that the roads are bad today, but as the temps drop again tonight it may be more dangerous.
Hate to see anyone get out in this if not necessary.
A friend north at Eagle Mt. Lake posted a pic on fb showing a 13" + snow. So unlike anything we have ever seen in North TX.

My crepe myrtle had been trimmed back and isn't too large either, so survived. The plants below are blanketed by snow.

My neighbor and friend Glenda's house. Her pecan trees didn't break.
She was our guest at several RU in Arlington so some of you met her.

Her magnolia did drop a couple small limbs and was drooping low, but beautiful in the snow.

The large maple in my front yard was the only one we were concerned about, but it didn't loose any limbs and was beautiful with the snow.

Everyone's pics are so pretty! I really do enjoy looking at the snow and watching it fall. I just don't like getting out in it!

Here's one of the crepe myrtles in our yard.

We did lose the top of one of our Savannah Holly trees. While I'm sad to see it go, it was really in a bad spot, so it's okay. I didn't snap a picture of it and DH didn't want to venture out in the snow on that side of the house.

Here's the tree last night after I got home from work.

Here's the corner of our street. Turn left here to get to our house! LOL Anyway the big oak tree was so heavy with snow this morning you couldn't even drive on that side of the street. This evening, it was back to normal.

The big oak tree in our front yard. It was so heavy with snow, I'm surprised it didn't snap! If you look on the left side of the pic, just by the fence you can see our broken Savannah Holly tree.

My neighbor's tree. This was so pretty to watch "grow" with the snow.

My boss, who grew up in Maryland and then did a stint in Missouri for a few years before moving back to Texas, shoveling the snow with a *real* snow shovel. It moved with his family from MO. He didn't think he'd ever actually have to use it! LOL He said it's been many years since he's shoveled, but it's like riding a bike. I bet he's sore tomorrow!!

Yesterday, we received warning of 2 to 4 inches and woke up to an amazing 11 inches. We didn't lose power (for a change) but I heard limbs snapping thru the woods.

Walking down our driveway to check the road... the dogs have left me far behind.

The road had two sets of tracks on it but we went to work. Good thing too as I enjoy walking in the woods and didn't need to be out there with the limbs snapping and dropping.

The poor little birds have emptied the hoppers of the bird feeders today and I can see why.

Bird feeders... note the cardinal on the crossbar. There are usually a lot of them out there. I picked a bad time I guess

Just about up to my knees when there are no trees to catch it...

Edited to say:

Note the evergreen behind me. It normally stands taller than the roof.

Wow ~ Yardqueen ~ that is amazing how deep yours is. It was wet and heavy and compacted well. Was great for snowmen, snowball fights, etc.

I was amazed to see how dark the greenhouse was inside this a.m.

The only reason our power stayed on is we have had windstorms and hurricanes blow through recently. The power company and the highway dept have apparently managed to keep all trimmed back and cleaned up so very few outages here.
Dfwdennis ~ I know you are glad to be back in civilization! Hope they can keep it on.

These photos are beautiful--So glad that Punxtawaney Gore saw the sun and crawled back in his hole.

Emory, TX(Zone 8a)

Podster, did you mean my greenhouse or yours? If you meant mine, there are 2 reasons. First of all when DH built it he used smokey colored panels on some of it so that the sun would not burn plants. Also the power was off. It went off at 4 AM and came back on at noon. DH built a fire in the greenhouse... LOL He really did! He used a metal bucket and some charcoal and wood. he had to kept checking it and adding to it from time to time. kept it at about 50 to 60 the whole time. He had to leave the door cracked. I think everything is fine.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Glad to see everyone checking in with all of the pics here.
Stephanie...glad the oak over your house didn't break, looks like it would have caused damage. The neighbors looks lovely for sure.
Yardqueen...where is Emory? That was some deep snow you had. Looks like the trees are really stressed with the weight.
Dennis...glad to know you have power again.
Podster...The view of the driveway is really pretty.

Hope Josephine got the electricity back on at her house.

Here's hoping everyone has their electricity back on!

Yardqueen, I meant to say the dark greenhouse was mine. It was so bright outside from the snow that I wasn't prepared when I walked in the GH to the darkness. The roof was covered with snow. Do you leave plants in it year around?

LOL Vortreker ~ I shall have to remember that!
