Here in the middle of Texas, we have only a dusting of snow. But look at what my son and my DDIL have in SE Pennsylvania. 24" early yesterday with more falling. I'll visit them in spring and summer!

I absolutely love your snow photos when I can sit in the warmth of my home. Unfortunately, we are also getting snow... 2-4 inches predicted and sleet all day today. Fingers crossed for the power company here.

Sit in a warm house, I think not. We are getting bundled up for our morning walk, will return with pictures.

Love the pic of Shelby. She looks like she's having fun :)

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh my we got up this morning and the snow is twice as deep as it was in these pictures. Will post later. Josephine doesn't have electricity this morning, and many of our other friends may not....we all wish you well and hope it is only for a short time.

Frisco, TX(Zone 8a)

My daughter moved to Dallas last summer and had just bought some new clothes for her first ski trip this March. She put everything on, ventured outside and was pleased to report the salesman helped her choose good stuff.Fortunately the office is only 3/4 mile from her apartment so if she has to go in today she won't have to be on freeways.

I now have 46 pictures on my chip and Maggi has just as many and some videos as well. I do not have time to go through them now, we are just warming up to take another trip. I am missing work today and heaven knows we could use the money but I for one am just loving this.

It was melting a little yesterday evening, but over night more snow came down and covered everything.

I bet your dog loved the snow. He doesn't even look white against it.

This is where my little 6 inch ruler is that I used to measure with yesterday. Some of the snow maybe an inch melted yesterday and now this morning some is falling out of the trees and dripping etc. So we had over 8 inches I am sure, maybe closer to 10.

Next door neighbor lost a yupon holly that was around 10 foot tall. They are due back from a trip today so I will leave it to them to clean up. :-)

No power for us (I am on my cell). The neighborhood has lost a lot of trees. Just got done chainsawing a path through my driveway. My neighbor with a generator saw on the news that DFW got 11.5 inches, and we are very close to the airport.

Dennis, Josephine:
Do y'all need anything. I'll be glad to help out anyway you need. Just let me know.

I measured 11.5 inches in various locations around the yard. This is a view of the "nursery" tables and greenhouse/flight cage (which stayed nice and toasty) at the butterfly farm. It's all melting off the trees fairly quickly but there was some damage: a huge redbud snapped like a twig, a big hackberry limb snapped, as did one of the green ashes. My huge elm tree is bending down and touching the ground, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. -- Dale

And now it looks like I am driving over to Dallas to Balch Springs? to a home depot at 7 pm to pick up a blind student to bring her home

My Crepe Myrtle lost a big limb in the middle, poor thing. This record snowfall was really something, wasn't it?

My family will be at my parents home until our power comes back on. Sounds like it might be a few days. Thank goodness I just got wireless internet working!

My daughter really had fun sledding down my parent's driveway. My dad brought a sled down from Michigan as a Christmas decoration - he never thought it would see any action down here! :)

Lovely pictures Everyone, that snow fell slow and wet and it just piled up big time.

We still have no electric, I came with Frank to his shop to mess with the computer, I missed it terribly, all morning.
Besides with no heat or electric it wasn't much fun at the house, we do have a gas fireplace but it only heats a very small area, toast the front and freeze the back, it is a lot better here at the shop.
We do have a small generator the we plan to set up later if we don't get the electric back.

Thank you for your offer of help Steph, but we are managing all right.
My next door neighbor's live oak lost about 8 major branches and they blocking my driveway right now.
It has been a big mess, but it sure was beautiful, looked like a wonderland, I took some more picture this morning which I will put up later on.

I hope everyone is o.k. stay warm and be safe.
Josephine.
