Let us Show the Snow.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

We have about 1 inch of snow as of 8 a.m. here in Arlington.
This is my patio table with cactus and succulents.

Josephine...lovely pictures. Looks like you got quite a dusting. I can see all the pictures except the last one.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I don't know why, but they are taking a long time to load, maybe it has to do with the weather.

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

We have what looks like over 2 inches on the ground right now, and it keeps on coming.

Hurry up, spring!!!

NE Medina Co., TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, that's it! The last picture froze! Very pretty snow. We're just having a very cold, drippy, miserable kind of day. And I think my Golden-fronted Woodpeckers may have left. Too bad, I enjoyed watching them at the feeder.

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

It is really a beautiful, peaceful snow falling out there. (I'm saying that because it's above freezing and the roads are fine, so I can relax and enjoy it!)

Lovely photos, Josephine.

Thank you Sheila Linda and Carla, I just found out on Dave's forum that they are transferring pictures from one server to another and that is why the problems.
Terry said they should be finished in a day or so.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I can see the last one now. So I will try a few. When I first took pictures we only had 2" but then I measured and it was 2 1/2". Just now I went and looked at the ruler and it is at 3", and is still snowing so I figure we will end up at 5 by morning.

This was standing at the doorway before we dressed to go out.

I noticed it came straight down, so the bushes up next to the house are clean.

The daffs are waiting patiently for spring....thank goodness no buds yet.

And the Orleander had too much and gave in.

Out back I had to go down to feed the shop cat, that took some careful walking on the steps.

Yes, very pretty Sheila.
I had to go out and shake the snow off the evergreens because they were about to break.
I see some live oak trees with the branches really hanging down, I hope they don't break.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

This is my table where I put the ruler. It is at three inches now, the peanuts I put there for the bluejays 30 minutes earlier are getting covered.

Thanks Josephine....Yes we are worried about the electrical wires also getting hit by branches falling. Wishing for some wind to blow the snow off before rain might freeze on them.

Off the deck the angel fountain is frozen again.

The pond is still running fine....may start freezing in the am though.

Herman just heard on channel 8 the snow may continue for another 12 hours. That they anticipate 6-8" for us. Got food and warm blankets....hope the electrical holds up.

Same here Sheila, I hope Herman is o.k.

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Beautiful pics! I know it's an inconvenience to those of you up there, but snow is so pretty when it has first fallen.

And what do you get with a black dog and snow? No, no, not the yellow snow thing.......snow freckles! (Not a very good photo, but you get the idea)

A very excited black dog with freckles!! LOL!!
I miss having a dog, DH and I decided when the weather improves we will look at getting another.

Fort Worth , TX(Zone 8b)

My patio table looks like it has a feather bed on top.

I've been outside shaking tree limbs, though some have already broken under the weight of the snow.

This is enough winter for me, thank you. Time to move on into ..well, you know.

I'll try again with the picture...

oh well!

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I was out shaking down my evergreens would hate for them to break, especially the Texas Mountain Laurel, the are so slow to grow, and so valuable too.
Your picture is being slow to load up, but that problem will be corrected soon.

I wanted to add the picture not showing is not your fault, they are transferring data from one server to another and there will be hiccups for a day or so.

Thanks, Josephine. I'm glad to hear what the problem is. I just heard the TVi weatherman say that this snow will probably break every record for our area. It's still coming down lightly but steadily at my house. I really don't relish the thought of going out and shaking all those trees again!! aaaaggghhh....
