It's really amazing how fast these threads fill up so fast! If you would like a look back at the last one here is the link. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1074347/

Thanks to everyone for great contributions on the last thread!

Here is a shot from last June of a Red-tailed Hawk flying over.

About the Titmouse that Linda of Tx had on previous thread..

Thanks pelle, I just read in one of my books (by Kaufman) that the Black-crested Titmouse, replaces the Tufted Titmouse in parts of Texas and southern Oklahoma and was formerly treated as the same species.

Thanks for the new thread pelle.

I managed to get a few pics today. I put one of my collages over on the ID forum, because I don't know what kind of bird I snapped.

Here is a collage - Carolina Chickadee, and a moment later, Brown-headed Nuthatch dining at the same Black Oil Sunflower seed feeder.

Here's some male House Finches and a male Cardinal at the platform feeder. I took out the wire grate that goes in it and I had more birds pay a visit than usual. I think I'll leave it out for a while.

Wow! That last thread was a mover! lol Loved every bit of it though. :) Nice shots everyone on the previous thread!!

And if your new to this forum...Welcome!!!

LindaTX8, I agree with the others that your bird is a Black-crested Titmouse. Thanks for sharing!

claudcat, your Woodpecker, is a Red-breasted Sapsucker, nice capture Ive never seen one..thanks for sharing!

Jhowdy, great shot of the Oriole!! I agree with thebestmissy your other bird is a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker in winter plumage.

Well the first part of the winter storm here has dumped about 10 inches of snow during the day...right now the wind is starting to kick-up for part two.
I wish I didn't have to work today/yesterday, I was so curious to see what bird's would visit, the feeder's. My first look out the window yesterday morning had me excited as there were many visitors. The only non-regular visitors I seen were a few Grackles and a male and female Northern Cardinal. The feeder's were empty so I re-filled them before I left for work, about 7lbs of food, when I got home they were empty again. Glad I picked up 40lb's of bird food.

only have 2 shots this time...one the hawks left his calling card outside my patio door today...don't know if he was sharing or letting me know he was successful after the day before. lol

Good call on the Black-crested Titmouse! I only looked at the thumbnail very briefly not the full-size pic (very late last night!) so didn't spot the black crown

Nice Red-tailed Hawk, pelle.

Excellent collages, Hack ....

I replenished my birdseed yesterday with an 80lb. purchase. So, at least the birds will have something to eat. I haven't had a large variety of birds.

Here's a collection of 11 photos of Blue Jay's and Northern Cardinals taken on Monday. Perhaps a little too "busy".

That collection of birds is amazing, Linth. Would be an awesome poster.

Thanks Resin.

Beautiful collection Linth!

Outside briefly enough to catch this Osprey flying over. Too COLD to stay out. What a nasty winter! Even in Florida!

Thumbnail by gardenpom
Linthicum Heights, MD(Zone 7a)

gardenpom, send that Osprey our way .......... that will signify Spring is around the corner. Blizzard conditions here in the Mid-Atlantic. I went out yesterday and replenished all of our needs for the next week so I'm not going to rush out when it stops snowing. This is downright ridiculous.

This morning, here in Baltimore, we had a firehouse burn down while the firemen were on duty. No one injured but a brand new $500,000 fire engine was completely destroyed. How does a firehouse burn down while firemen are on duty and in the building ? I assume some of these older firehouses, possibly wood construction, can get out of control quickly.

Anyway, how do you like this Blue Jay's hairstyle ?

Nice hair, Linth. I'm sure you all up North are really sick of this weather. Even in the Deep South we have had enough cold to last us a LONG time.

Mayo, FL(Zone 8b)

thebestmissy and Burd_fotos - thank you for the ID on the Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker. That's two new comers stopping by this week. Great time of year as the traffic picks up with those trying to return north.

linthiicum - I think the jay and cardinal photo looks very patriotic.

Great photographs of the Juncos this morning, nice captures.

Nice pic GP.

Love the Blue Jay's hairstyle!

Congrats on the new birds jhowdy!

From the last thread-
Claudcat, I enjoyed seeing your birds, especially the Stellar Jay. We just see them for a short time here in the early spring.
LindaTX, great picture of the titmouse.
Jhowdy, welcome and congrats on the new bird. Do you know if it's a Bullock's or an Orchard Oriole? It looks pretty dark. Very cute young woodpecker too.
Margaret, thanks for the info on the Wattlebird.
GP, great red head!

Pelle, great start with that beautiful hawk. Gorgeous photo of your junco-love the lighting in this photo.
Hack, cute collages and cute chickadee, sparrow and nuthatch. Your cardinal is beautiful all fluffed up.
Burd, love your grackle and cardinal. Glad you got more food for your feathered friends-stay warm and safe.
Linth, your collection photo is beautiful. Love that pretty grackle and the wren is such a bright color. Sorry to hear about the firehouse and engine. Great shot of the "hairstyle".
GP, pretty osprey shot!

Here's one of my Brewer's Blackbirds calling everyone to dinner.
