Dark-eyed Junco female...
The Juncos were our most regular visitors during this snowstorm.
Daily piccies #283
Love the snow pics, since I don't have to deal with it....pretty to look at. When I came home from work, I noticed the Woodpeckers tree had been taken down further. It is now about 20 feet tall, with no branches. I'm not sure if the Woodpeckers have any nests in the remaining part. But if it stays, perhaps they can make one.
Congratulations Julie! I love the Yellow-rumped Warblers.
VA, Very nice shots! That is one sweet looking Song Sparrow.
You guys are getting our snow and yours in the same storm. Hope nobody get hurt from shoveling and driving.
I do love the landscape, when everything is over though.
Lovely pics of the birds and snow, everyone.
Here's a Black-capped Chickadee on the peanut feeder. They seem to have a hard time with this feeder. Haven't refilled it all winter.
Love the Dove pic burn! The tail looks nice.
So many great pictures. I had lots of ordinary birds ll day here too--we measured 27 inches on our deck at the end of the snow. My camera doesn't get good pics through the window
A huge flock of robins stayed in our sycamore all day today- wondering why--are they on their way through, or came out from the forest during the snow?.
2dCousinDave - thanks for the info on the Canon 200mm f1.8. Sure does take great pics in low light.
ducbucln - nice Goldfinch capture
pelletory - by the look of your feeders, it sure must be cold in NJ.
flowerjen - NJ, too. man you guys are have it rough.
JulieQ - congrats on you new bird - the Yellow-rumped warbler. I've seen some around here.
VA_Wild_Rose - that's a nice snap of a Dark-eyed Junco male. I saw one here today, but didn't have the 40D at the time.
burn_2007 - You say your goldfinch never left your area for the winter - mine left, but that have returned in great numbers.
claudcat - Oh yeah, if you've been away for awhile, a lot has gone down. I like the White-crowned Sparrow
Burd_Fotos - You posted a lot of great shots, but that pic of Elvis is super.
2nd yr that we have not had goldfinches. There used to be tons & no I have not seen any hawks.
