California spring is on the way!

Thanks Randy, good info to try. Interesting that copper sulfate should kill it and you said they got their start in the copper mining town..

Actually the seeds washed down stream to other towns to get their start.

Pirate, do you know if that copper sulfate solution would work on pepper trees?

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

It should work on most any tree that sprouts after it's been cut down. It's deadly to the roots. If you confine it to the stump, it won't hurt any plants surrounding it.

All sorts of things started blooming while we were on vacation. Here's a few of them. The clumping Gazanias are in full bloom now

(also, here's a link to our vacation pix)

There's always something so cheery about gazanias. Nice pics, DP.

Oh, your garden look great, and in my favorite colors. I guess my 'Margarites' are African daisies, as they look alike. They are also profuse right now, but with the heat of summer I thought they were gonners.

Yep, CG, it's here! Wahoo!

A cool-off a bit, also, with rain. What a weathersome year, eh?

More like normal to me - I remember weather like this when I was a child.

Fresno, CA(Zone 9b)

Eeeww, you must be as old as I am, KC. I, too, remember such weather. I remember being flooded out of our home over 2 weeks beginning a couple of days before Christmas in Walnut Creek downroad from a canal. I remember fog on my way to college classes in the a.m. when I had to drive with my head hanging out the window. I remember . . . . Never thought I'd say that. Linda

Ha! Wait until you 'don't remember' and you'll think you'd never be saying that either.....
