some stars home.. maybe Tom Sellec??.. I don't remember
Miscellaneous Shots - Part 2
We've made Vegas our central spot for a few trips - also went to Joshua Tree NP from Vegas. Can usually get cheap flights and rooms. We're going to Tahoe in a couple weeks, and fly to Vegas for a stop over then to Reno. Thought about driving to Reno but 8 hours from Vegas is a little much.
Speaking of stars, the real stars were awesome from a back road on the way to Joshua Tree. So black you could see so many.
I bet.. we did not get to see any of that... I would like a road trip out there
Well, I would recommend Joshua Tree NP and we did an excursion train from a little town in Arizona - (can check w/DH) to the Grand Canyon. Didn't see the canyon from the train but it was a fun trip.
I will post some more tomorrow... long story short we were supposed to stay at the Aladdin right after the renovations were done... and there was close to 30 rooms with a joint trip at work.. we arrived after a long agonizing plane ride and they gave our rooms up... almost had a riot in the lobby of the hotel with some tough Trenton woman flipping out.. I actually took a few steps back in case they started swinging.. there was a young woman explaining the situation.. I thought they were going to kill her... when she said they obtained us rooms in the flamingo ... just screamed they don't want to stay in the broken down old hotel .. they wanted to stay here in the nice new one... thought the one lady was going to take the hotel goodie bag and stick it down the poor girls throat... they gave us free tickets to the Aladdin's buffet (which was for the same day only)... and we were all exhausted.. but since they are worth $75.00 each at the time Randy and I went not realizing when you can see a casino right down the street it might be a couple of miles away.. we almost passed out on the way back.. way too exhausted to do that kind of walking.. so the first day of the trip was a loss.. we woke up at 4:00 AM got to the airport... delays up the wazoo at the air port.. had a transfer... bus was late to pick us up .. finally got settled in a room... ate dinner and went to bed... and trust me I am a slot player and I passed on them!!
I know about walking the strip - thought it would be a breeze, had to buy flip flops because of all the blisters.
the day before we went home I had shin splints so bad... i almost cried every step.. will be bringing better shoes next time
definitely!
Great series, Allison! Would love to visit that area, but have NO desire to see Vegas at all. Just not into that stuff.
to tell you the truth I loved all the attractions ... the shark reef at Mandalay Bay was really nice
I would only be interested in stuff like that. Have zero interest in gambling. Don't like AC.
I would take Vegas over AC anyday
Because of all the other stuff to do?
yes.. watching the acrobats .. just going into the Rio was a party... the light parade was really cool.. we took a tour that brought us to each of the hotels free floor shows.. it was cool.. I will get into the nightmare of that tour tomorrow.. too tired tonight
I would like all that.
Wonderful shots Allison! Thanks for sharing! ☺!
Hoover is awesome.
Yeah the show at the Rio was cool.
We saw BB King at Mandalay Bay at the House of Blues, which was the same day as the Holyfield fight so there were "players" walking around everywhere! Ya know... purple suits with the pimp hats and canes. So every restaurant was PACKED. We ended up eating at Rock Lobster at the bar and we couldn't sit togther, we were with another couple and Diane and I sat on one side and the guys on the other(they had really good food otherwise, unless it was just because we were starving!) Then we didn't realize the House of Blues is a club atmosphere so it was standing room only. What a day that was.
You have to WALK everywhere and I hated the fact you had to walk thru the casino to get to the rest of the hotel. I got so sick from all the cig smoke.
It was nice to see it once but we'd never so back.
mandalay bay is nice - i brought my wife out while i was on business and stayed there - we went to the house of blues several nights
not a big vegas fan - been there too many times on business and not into gambling - i do know several good restaurants that i visit every time i go though.
it was a long walk anywhere there.. just go to go the restroom was a hike.. we did go see a mixed review show had some juggling, acrobats, dancers, magicians, etc .. it was nice but I would like to see Circ and Pen & Teller
I think the circus acts were my favorite show. Anyone do the ride on top of the Stratosphere?
Wow, look at all the great places I get to go with my cup of coffee this mornig!! Wonderful photo's all!!!
