I like that last shot, Jen.

The famous Oyster Bar in GC. They have Guastavino tiled arches and if you stand in a certain position under the arch and another person stands in the corresponding diagonal corner, you can practically speak in a whisper and clearly hear each other.

So how are the oysters?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'm not the one to ask! Cousteau called them the garbage collectors of the ocean. Yuck.

The stairs that determined your fate. This is from Ellis Island. If you were staying in the NY area, you went won the right. All elsewhere in the US and you went left. Down the middle and you were deported. 85% stayed.

Really nice shots Victor! I saw that Ellis Island documentary. Very interesting!

Put my point and shoot on the Roomba robot vacuum a couple of months ago. The vibration causes the blur that gives it the funky look. I like it and have to do it again.

One of my favorite 'action' shots ever. I had just gotten my first digital camera (Nikon Coolpix 995) and snapped this of my younger son at just the right time!

That is the most hysterical pic.

I'm thinking he won't think it's so cute that you posted that here when he's say..about 16!
It is cute though!! lol Looks like it was an "eye shot'.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

True!

Saw on the news (probably done now) an auction in NYC. Something Green - on the green? A famous restaurant - Well anyways its going out of business and I would go to the auction to see all the antiques going off. I saw wicked beautiful lamps/chandeliers/lighting/ I would go just to take pictures.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Tavern on the Green?

I think so. If I can remember right did it have a golf course?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Would love to have something from there, I'm sure my one friend would too, she had her sweet 16 party there.

I dont know if the auction went off or not yet. I am sure that with the name and history it was a HIGH END auction and you would have to have some dough to get anything.

No - it's in Central Park.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I think I read somewhere that the auction started Jan. 13th & 14th, it all over and yes it's Tavern on The green.

Very sad

History
Central Park's Tavern on the Green was built in 1870 and was designed to hold sheep. The sheep in Central Park were then moved elsewhere and the structure became a restaurant in 1934.http://www.tavernonthegreen.com/history.asp?headinfo=abouttavern&subhead=history7 It was bought by the LeRoy family in the mid-1970s. The owners were forced to file for bankruptcy in September 2009. The restaurant will be in operation until December 31, 2009. The new owner, Dean Poll, plans to install new kitchens and renovate the restaurant.

Another. Dang cop had to drive by. He was slowing down like he was going to turn around and come back toward me, so I high-tiled it out of there.
