Images/GIFS gone??

Just wondering if this is a glitch?

All the "gifs" are gone.

I looked ot see if anyone had posted on it yet... nothing yet but if it is a dup. Do delete this thread.

what is a "gif"? if it means the tabs at the tops of daves gardens mine are gone too. they have been replaced with x's. if i click the x it takes me to the correct spot but the names are gone.

The banner is also gone for me.

Well, what can I say? There's a certain feeling of a lack of control when other people take over all technical aspects of running the site.

I emailed them and they fixed it. Hopefully these kinds of things won't be happening very often.

I'd been browsing other sites and thought when I went back to DG I'd picked up something nasty. Thank you, Dave, for interceding. Sure wish you were back at the helm.

I've been getting logged out several times a day. I'll never forget my password now. :-)

I dont have any pictures, banner, or text on the tabs at the top of the page. I thought maybe this was a problem on my end. Maybe not? Thx WE

Dave, can you make them fix it on my computer? I get the banner and everything LOL, The only thing out of whack with mine is I'm still getting question marks where it should say Home and Communities at the top of the page.

Try hitting your "Refresh/Reload" button along with the "shift" key...

dave i got the mental picture of you sitting there watching your "baby" go haywire and not being able to fix it yourself. aaaaawwwww. will you not have any access to the workings and fixings of daves any more?

what does gif mean? i came to this forum to report my problem when i saw that and wondered if it was the same as my problem. i am proud to say that yes it was my gif that was messed up too.

a gif is a file extension for an image.... usually a graphic.

the actual banner is a jpg [i just checked] but all the text for the "tabs" are actually images that are gifs
and when they do not load, you get that "x" where the image should be.

tcs you explained that so well i think i actually got that without too big of a strain on my brain. thanks.

graphics arts class explained all that to me eons ago... but glad i could help.
