Valentine's Day is coming. Any plans?
The Daytona 500 is on the 14th so we're not going anywhere.
I found THE BEST card for hubby.
Valentine's Day
Love the card!
we never do much...I'll get some candy for our granddaughters from my hubby and usually pick him up something sweet for him. I told him years ago to stop sending flowers...such a waste of $$$ I would rather buy some new seeds!
I told him if he does flowers to buy me plant(he did for our anniversary) or a gift certificate to a garden center.
Very cute and oh so true isn't it. We stopped doing the valentines thing a couple decades ago. Fun for young couples, lots of pressure on you guys I'm afraid.
I would be happy with just something small. As long as he remembers, I happy with that but not just a card that is TOO lame.
We usually go out to dinner, and I usually get something from Victoria's Secret or similar.
I actually enjoy flowers still, but don't get them as often as I used to.
we usually just exchange cards and dinner, although we do not go out on valentines day as the restaurants here usually raise prices and go with a set menu so we go the weekend before or after
We go out every Saturday night, and Friday's for fish. I just like to stay home once in awhile. Told DH a romantic night for me would be to come home to a candlelit dinner, still waiting. He would probably order take out if he did do it.
LOL
I have to give a blood panel so chocolate is out.
It just isnt the holiday it used to be.
NOW
Ground Hog day is another matter.
Don't know yet.
One year I got a bunch of balloons and took them to Jeff's school and told the office that I planned to deliver them to his classroom. I planned it during his favorite class. Knocked on the door and pretended I was the delivery person looking for Mr. Jackson. Then promptly grabbed him and planted a big one on him right there. The kids loved it. hee-hee
What a romantic
I hope he remembers this year, Jen!
Jan, very cool and you reminded me of a very long time ago while dating still, I wrote a bunch of little notes to DH, took them to the store and put them inside balloons before they were filled. Then I wrote a note, incuded a pin, saying he had to pop each ballon to find out what I liked about him.
What I wanted to do was fill his car with them, enough that he had to pop them before he could get in, but since he kept it locked I had to tie them to the outside. I had to scope out the parking lot at his job a few days earlier to find where he parked, it was a large lot.
DH doesn't 'do' valentines. That's what he gets for attending schools without a valenine box. I send them to my family, getting them for SILs is difficult. Have to look in the kids section.
I'm going to go with a card this year. (lol)
Have not even started thinking about it yet.
I've been thinking about cards as they have to go in the mail around the country. Family Must move back to New England.
I will make us a nice dinner usually but that's the end of it... we stopped buying presents a few years ago... this year I bought us both some of the popcorn factory popcorn... no need to fuss
Don't need presents, but cards are nice.
hmmmm, let me see?
raspberry chocolate cheesecake might be on the menu.
yum
I was checking my e-mail and got one from BJ's wholesale club(don't know if you guys have them) they are like Costco or Sam's.
You can order 26 hydrangea stems(Valentine's sale) for 64.99 for the pink and 68.99 for the white...Yeah, just the stems!!!!
not so much of a deal huh??
I have never seen pink or white stems, aren't they usually green? I wonder what color the flowers would be?
I am sorry I couldn't resist. :)
Is it me or is that just crazy? I know they jack up the prices for V day but..... come on! I could buy a couple of shrubs.
Har Har Har..... sounds like something Victor would have said
yeah the more I get to know Victor the more I suspect we are sort of cut from the same cloth.
ha ha!!!!
My cloth was burned after birth!
maybe I was born first?
ok, I think I will step back now. :)
Lady, Its starch from the roots of the cassava, Manihot esculenta. Most common is the pearl form.
I usually make Holly truffles for Valentines Day, and some special dinner, beginning with asparagus soup, a small bouquet of flowers, and card. Ric
We have no plans. We usually just exchange cards or ecards.
Mail cards to the grandchildren.

Anybody done the candy thing?
