vossner,

I saw a Dark red syg at Lowes a couple of weeks ago. You might was to check yours. It was in the small plant area which had a lot of Angel plants too.

Good luck.

I thought all Cyclamen were the same, just that they did better in some areas than others. I guess some are hardier than others: http://www.cyclamen.org/indexCS.html I think all of the plants seen in garden centers down here actually come from wholesale nurseries in the southern part of the state. Some grown out in the fields and others forced into bloom in greenhouse settings. I don't know anything about Cyclamen but thought they only did well in cooler temperatures so wouldn't survive long here. I too love Syngoniums. I have the solid green stuff growing outside my screen room. Dumb me planted a piece years ago and it takes over an area quickly here in Fla. This photo shows it growing up the screen ... it attaches itself to the screen and climbs all the way to the roof. You can see in this photo the holes in the screen from where I ripped it down ... it grew up and attached to the roof! My husband has had to replace that screen a few times over the years! It's just impossible to keep Syngonium contained if it's in the ground. This photo was taken last year before I pulled most of it out but I bet when the weather warms I find it sprouting again as usual!

I don't know about anyone else but it's fine with me if you post photo's of Annual's, Perennials, whatever. Hey, I posted a picture of a bird or two! I love looking at everyone's pictures!

Here's another (not so tropical) bird. The Mourning Dove ... very common backyard bird here in my area:

Tired of bird pic's?LOL. This is the last for me, promise! I have some errands to run so I better get busy!

The Blue Jay is another common year round bird here. The Raccoons (being fat and well fed from my feeders) always knock over one of the standing feeders at night and seed will be in a pile on the ground. This Jay just scooped up seeds he wanted from the pile on the ground.

Have a great day everyone!

Happy, one other thing I have to add..and perhaps it has helped the tree fern along too. I was remembering the other day...things do exceptionally well in the beds that I had Azalea dirt mix put in. It has a much higher acidic content.

Ah, will give that try. Thanks, rj.

Hi Everyone, just popping in to say how much I am enjoying everyone's pictures and comments. But I am truly sorry to see my friend's gardens looking so bad.

3jsmom31, I will join plantladylin in saying that it is fine to post pictures of anything that makes you happy. I do have quite a lot of perennials and look forward to planting annuals as soon as I can. I love them all !!

Can you see the stowaway from Florida, he thought that it was warmer here in Texas.
