Quirks, idiosyncrasies, peculiarities

Panama, NY(Zone 5a)

I just found this - you guys get so far ahead, I never know if I should jump in or not!

Ok, so my main quirk is that when I pick up crayons or colored pencils I put them away in chromatic order. My paints are stored that way as well. The rest of my possessions look like I tossed them in a hurricane, but by golly, my colors are in the order that God intended.

Kathleen do you put the browns with the oranges? I think brown is an everything colour but some people believe its an orange.

I put the browns with the blacks. I guess I figure that you have to use all of the primaries to make brown.

Please jump in anytime, Kathleen - the water's fine!

I used to do that with the crayons. No more.

I couldn't organize colours. I can't tell blue from purple or pink from orange. When I'm buying clothes I have to stop people in the store and ask them "is this blue or purple?".

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I feel that way about brown too.

All colours look different in stores under the flourescent lights methinks. I have issues with dark pink vs. red in roses. So many 'red' roses look 'dark pink' to me.

We had a technician wire a huge panel with hundreds of color-coded wire before he admitted he was color blind.

Did they have braille bumps on them?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

We had to go over the entire thing. He got most of it right. Browns and reds were mixed up. Blues and purples.

Thank goodness you didn't work for a bomb squad. EEK!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Uhh - we practically did. Nuclear work.

dahlia, I have that same problem with roses, and Gertrude Jekyll's 'blues" - enough to make one run mad!

Victor, we had that problem with a couple of family members and wiring. So far only a few blown fuses. My dad would argue you into submission over browns and greens. He LOVES oranges, I think it may be the one color that he sees true.

To be honest, I never realized I did it until my DH pointed it out. Now, I know I do it, but can't help myself.

Load DW back to front - there is less torque then on the dish tray.

Definitely sucking hard candy rather than chewing.
