Quirks, idiosyncrasies, peculiarities

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

sorry to hear that jen -my brothers kid is not bad like that just a wise guy with no respect for elders because he thinks he is cute and get away with it - and really it is my brothers fault because he does not discipline him - i was once in the car and he got a if you do that one more time from my brother and the k id said yeah right you never do anything to me and just continued - he would of been in his room for a month - no tv, eat dinner alone, only school work to keep him busy.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Problem parents warrants a thread of its own!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

yes it does Victor!!!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Mr. Wilson would agree.

South Hamilton, MA

The quirk at this house is that we grow irises. Perhaps there are other plants in the world.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Funny you should say that irisMA. And here all this whole time I thought you were only into roses.

South Hamilton, MA

DH is that quirky also, he does have a plant of Paul Himilayan Musk. Bad childhood climate on Long Island.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Couldn't have been the North Shore...

I used to have 'peculiarities' or better called 'mannerisms' when I was younger, worried about fitting in, etc., but after you get older and sort out what's important and what's not, I found they go away by themselves, (at least in my case), I just didn't have any time for that stuff...

South Hamilton, MA

On Great South Bay.

I think most of us worry about fitting in as young people. As we get older we know we will fit in somewhere so who cares about that.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Are you saying you're quirkless WC? Really, truly?

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Yes, I've phased out of that gendre, now I'm 'cool' like you D'nut! (lol!)

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

It's all about the joy WC ^_^

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Sure it is. ☺

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

LOL!!

I have a tendency to buy seeds even if I don't need them....some I never even get around to sowing.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thats me! But i'll share...trade whatever.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

three of a kind!!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

LOL

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Make that four. Buying seeds in the winter is like insurance that Spring WILL COME.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

You can never, ever, ever have too much seed. Speaking of which I need to go out harvest some snaps.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Very funny, everyone! I laughed a lot (not silently) while reading some of these.

Bill - when we return to the Great Northeast, may I go grocery shopping with you????? I think it would be very entertaining, and hopefully I'll get to see you running over kids and putting the aisle-blocker in her place with your Newbie Suggestions! Still laughing!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

What about toilet paper? Anyone 'anal' (hee hee!) about which way it's put on? Unfolding from the front vs. the back. I am. I like it to unfold from the rear. ^_^ Only exception is one bathroom where the holder is mounted low. It hits the heater if it unfolds from the back.

Toothpaste?? Roll the tube down or just squeeze? That one doesn't bother me.

Cuyahoga Falls, OH(Zone 5a)

Toilet paper - unfold from the front. The important thing, though, is that you don't run out of it - lol !

Toothpaste - roll as you go.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Yeah, toilet paper has to unroll from the front.....requires too much in the way of gymnastics to reach backwards and under. In my bathroom, it unrolls from the front. If Hank changes a roll, it unrolls from the back until I change it. LOL

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Our TP rolls from the side cuz I accidently dropped the roller thingy down the vent (oops).

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - what vent has such large openings?

North Augusta, ON

TP has to roll from the back...otherwise a cat can come along and unroll it. They think it's a grand game!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Crash used to get it as a kitten - even from the back!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

tp always on the front

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

same here....

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

over the top

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

From the bottom.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Over the top, I dropped the roller thingy in the toilet, ewwwww.... I went and bought one of those Glade rollers.
Toothpaste I squeeze from the bottom but don't roll it up.

When I used to take the eggs out of the carton to put in the fridge I had to put them in differently than they were in the carton so they had new "neighbors"

Wow, that's embarrassing to admit.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Victor it's a little vent without a grill just wide enough for the roller thingy. At first I thought it was a teensyweensy laundry shoot for socks but after DH noticed the shortage of socks I figured out it was a little furnace vent.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

flowerjen that is just the sweetest friendliest thing to do ^_^

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Thanks D Nut

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Yeah, I like it too, Jen!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow, you need help, Jen. ^_^

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Maybe we can get a group rate!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Admitting is the first step Jen! LOL

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Jen - did the neighbors know who was next on death row?
