I would like to start a thread for posting non-gardening photos. Let's use this to show any other shots of interest - people, architecture, sports, wildlife, whatever!
Here's a shot from the Army game last week. Breakaway right before the guy tripped him from behind.
Miscellaneous Shots
Nice shots Victor. I don't go anywhere or do anything except in the garden. My life is sooooo exciting. LOL So if it doesn't take place in the garden I don't see it. So I will fudge this thread a little and post a shot of the local rodent control system. Not such a great pic, taken from a long way away.
Nice!
Nice shot of the traditional meeting place on arriving in NYC Victor.
What an amazing shot of a snowflake. Only 8 years old when she took it, cool.
LOL that makes me hungry Victor. Very colorful and yummy!
Never saw that.
Good shot Jen, your'e niece has a gift!
Love the culinary institute! Maybe a minor in architecture is not too far away once 'ya break a guitar string Victor? (lol!)
* 3 shots...
- When the sun get low and the winter breeze starts up I don’t cry about not taking pics of flowers, I point my camera towards the heavens, sometimes I get a good shot of our feathered friends, I usually post my best ones on the bird forum, the guys there are top notch and top quality, I don’t hang out there all the time, I usually give them my best shots – they, (my shots), have to exceed my definition of excellent when I post them there. – I'm in the company of some great photographers with top notch equipt, and I give them my best.
- Hats off to 'Pelle and the gang'! ☺
Being surrounded by water here on LI gives me plenty of ops for beach/ ocean shots, obviously I go or take pics of empty beaches, a lone beach is worth a million to me considering they are so crowded during summer. So I go in inclement weather, cloudy, rainy, snowy, (the most brutal cold unimaginable, except for a fisherman), which I also exercise my skills at, given the chance.
Ok guys some of you know I'm into Astro-photograhpy, in fact it's the reason I picked up a camera over 40yrs ago and started taking and developing my own pics decades before digital when I was just a kid. (yes I developed and printed color slides & prints too and got spanked for burning holes in my moms closet with hypo solution when I didn't have a darkroom). 'It's the culprit which I blame for starting me on the road to literally tens of thousands of dollars spent in photo equipt. and an insatiable love for taking pics of my dreams....
BTW: I'm so picky I took ~15 shots of the crescent moon this am, (yes today, this Monday Jan 11th), but I didn't like them so I deleted them! I usually post on the 'moon thread' in the photos forum, but I'm shooting for Saturn now and I'll put it here, (or somewhere...), when I finally get a pic I like. I'm my own most vicious & demanding critic. (- no lie & I don't believe I'd enjoy it as much any other way... ☺)
Great shots, WC! Love the beach one. Great composition and shadow. Beautiful bird shot too. Yes, they are really in to it and really good on that forum. No fuzzy NYC pigeon shots there!
Thanks, ... no, I agree, no fuzzy NY pigeon there! LOL!!!
Ha Ha! Typical New Yorker! lol!
wow
Great shots! I especially like your beach shot, WC.
I love photography and am working to improve my skills, but for now, I think I'll just look and not share.
Hee hee - thanks. I did snap that quickly and moved on.
Cool Federal Hall shots.
Oh! I'm breathless!
... that's what's left of the finger when the ocean got through with it! (lol!)
Cool stickball, your old neighborhood?
Cute!
Yes, that's the block I grew up on in Astoria. The guy batting is one of my best friends. Know him since I was six.
That's a really good shot!
Thank you.
Is that duck 'lame' by any chance? (lol)
Good one!
Funny, WC!!!!
