Hey Dave!

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

I lost my send and preview buttons..have you seen them? I can hit where I think the "send" button is and it will go through. Good thing I am a DG junkie..heh heh

You're not seeing the images at all? Oh dear. I'll look into this.

Dave

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

no dave, no images at all...could it be on my end?

Well, I'm not sure. I can see the images, and nobody else has reported any problem with them.

You know, I recently changed from boring buttons to pretty image buttons. It wasn't a functional change, just an artistic one. If some people aren't seeing the images at all, I think I need to change it back to the old buttons.

I'm still looking into it, though.

must be my wonderful cow store puter...

Well, cow store puter or not, I need to fix this. There are other problems on DG, also, that affect a small number of people.

Macintosh users, for example... the poor folks can't use Internet Explorer on their iMac to access DG. :(

These are those little annoying bugs that I try to fix when I have spare time. It's so frustrating, working around the bugs of these web browsers, but, such is the life of a webmaster. :-)

I too have a cow store puter...and I have had my "send" button to disappear but the preview button is still there so I just click beside it where the Send is "suppose" to be and it goes right on. This has only happened a couple of times. but I figured it was my "cow-puter" LOL

Both of ya's, Lisa and Mollybee - Try defragging your hard drive. Use Windows Help to look up instructions on how to do this if you are not sure. I have found that things bog down and sometimes graphics don't load right when my hard drive is in bad need of defragmenting. Hope that helps!

:-)

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

mollybee...that is kinda what mine is doing...I hope you have better luck with you cowputer than I have had :( Lets see...send...send...where are you???...giggle

(Zone 6a)

Just what I was going to suggest gardenwife:)

Hey, wonder what those cow 'puters smell like? lol

well, that settles it. It's back to the old buttons.

Everyone should be seeing them now. Yes? Anyone not seeing both the Preview and the Send buttons?

Out with the new and back with the old. Yes, I see them both on mine.No cow droppings here on my end to cover up my send and preview. New was nice but old is just as good.

They're fine on my end, too..... so i take it everyone here doesn;t like the cow puters??????? I have to look into buying a new one for our new business..... any ideas???? I know I want an athlon processor...

I SEE IT!!! It was full of cow poop...there they are! So sorry dave, you didn't have to change them just 'cause I couldn't see it. JSS, I hate to bash anyone ... but lets just say I would look into other options. I could write a book about what has happen to me in just one year with my cowputer! Forbid you need customer service and talk country(cajun) talk...the insults made this lil' cajun gal hotter than a bottle of Tabasco...

justmeLisa, just shake your puter now and then and shake out all those cow patties and you'll be fine again.......hehe Must have mighty big cow patties there, girl!

JSS, I wouldn't be looking in the cow store for that new puter. JMLisa, I too know the feeling you got about the cowputer, I could write a book myself on all the trouble I have had and 12/24/01 will be only 1 year that I have had this thing. and if I had it to do all over again I would be bellering DELLLLLLL instead of MOOOO LOL
Gardenwife, I simply hate doing the defraggment on my puter. People swear it only takes a "few" minutes but every time the cow-people help me over the phone...it takes Hours!
:P anything but defragg!

I don't think it was Lisa computer. I think she may have been having a problem with to much of the old hard cider. It get's hard to see those tiny buttons when you have a pink elephant in front of them. LOL!

Well, I just have to say that "real" cows can give you fits on a regular basis, so it only makes sense that cowputers are a little stubborn! I'm going to make a pitch here for Norton Systems Works, if you have Microsoft, you need Norton. Its fix up programs work better and faster than the Windows stuff, and keep you going. Defragging with a Win program takes about 4 or 5 hours, Norton takes about 2 and gives you a little warning when you need to do it. I would love to break out of this little monosystm circle - I was a Mac user for my first 14 years of computer life - but I've gotten used to all this cr*p, and I'm not as young as I once was, and a little backward - - -

The computer I use still shows the old type. But the other one which is updated shows the green buttons.

Mollybee -

I know defrag is a pain in the cowpatty, but it's a must-do on the puter! :o) Start it running before you go to bed and let it do its magic while you're snoozing.

If you're having trouble with defrag re-starting repeatedly when you run it, try the following. Print this if it will help.

1. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL

2. When the CLOSE PROGRAM window comes up, highlight the first item *other than* Explorer and then click END TASK.

3. If a confirmation box comes up with a choice of END TASK or CANCEL, choose END TASK.

4. Repeat steps 1-3 until everything EXCEPT Explorer is closed. You always have to have Explorer open.

5. Now, click START --> PROGRAMS --> ACCESSORIES --> SYSTEM TOOLS --> Disk Defragmenter

6. In Disk Defragmenter, go to settings and make sure "check the drive for errors" is checked.

7. Click start.

HTH! :o)
