News from Dave option

I've been snooping around in Preferences, trying to help someone with something... and I came across "News from Dave" in the Updating your Home Tab

I set if for Column `, but i dont see it.

What is this News form Dave?
Is there any way it would cause "Alert Balloons" in the lower corner of the browser window?

If so, i think this may be a part of the issues she's having....

the news from Dave appears infrequently - only when there's news from Dave ;o)

Currently there isn't anything in the box, so it won't display until Dave posts something new.

OK gotcha....

so, any idea why someone would be getting "News Alert" balloons from Daves within their browser?

I'm not sure exactly what that means. Google can be set to send you alerts about a website, but that's something that you set up (and turn off) on your own as an individual.

Terry -- it seems like it was from Google Desktop.
I think she has been issue [balloon] free since uninstalling it.
