Nothing to write about this year?

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

There aren't any articles on my home page today. Not even the Fun Random Article.
Glitch? Hiccup? Quick fix for this?

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

Well, now I see the random article....I am guessing that you are fiddling with something and that is why I'm not seeing the daily articles.

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

You might check your preferences. We have 2 articles posted today. I just checked to see if they were still there.

Look under the customize your homepage option and see if the articles are enabled.

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

I have the header for "Today's Articles", with nothing under it but the header for "Today in History" and it's tidbits of history.
I'll go reboot it in my preferences and see if that works.

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

Let us know.

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

No change. I rebooted my computer too, in case that had something to do with it. Does it have anything to do with the recent changes? I may have read the articles last night after work, does it remove them from view now if we have read them?

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

No, they shouldn't disappear when you read them. Do you have another browser you can switch to?

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

I will try a different browser. Back in a min..

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

In Google's Chrome it still shows the heading for "Today's Articles".

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

I've flagged this to Dave to let him take a look.

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

In Mozilla's Firefox it just shows the header too. I am guessing that since I have probably already read them, that they are hidden from view because of that.
I will check again this evening by which time y'all should have posted today's (Jan 6th) article.

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

The articles should display regardless whether you've read them or not. The links just turn green.

Can you see today's articles in the archives? (under the Guides and Information tab)

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

They had always turned green before, now they are not showing under their header. I can access the articles by checking under Guides and Information and by clicking on the bottom of the random article without a problem.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Have you recently upgraded/changed something in your browser settings? it sounds like something's gone a little wonky...unless Dave has a different solution, I'd try switching browsers, reloading the browser, or at the very least, clearing your cache/history and then shut down and reboot your machine.

North Augusta, ON

Terry...it is tomorrow where she is and I see no articles scheduled for tomorrow...

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

You're right...I'll get on it.

I scheduled some articles for tomorrow. I don't know why there were none in the queue but I'm looking into it.

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

And it SHOWS them now!!!

I had tried shutting down for 10 minutes and restarting IE, downloading and trying to see them in Firefox and Chrome and there was no change until you loaded tomorrows articles.

Yep, it should all be straightened out now. Thank you, I appreciate the error report.

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the quick fix!

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Tomorrow's articles are now showing on my home page....it isn't tomorrow here.....

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

I'm pretty sure all the daily features (bloom of the day, articles, etc) are set to change at midnight UTC which is several hours ahead of any of the US time zones.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

For all these years that I have been writing DG articles, they change at midnight for me. At the moment it is January 5 and 10:30 here in KY. The articles appearing on my home page are those scheduled for Jan. 6. The ones scheduled for January 5 appeared as scheduled today until just an hour or so ago. Never before have they changed in the middle of an evening.

It is a mystery.

I changed it this evening. It now changes all at the same time for everyone, just like the Bloom of the Day. So, starting now, the day begins at midnight UTC (6 or 7 afters after Eastern time).

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Thanks, Dave, I thought I was caught up in a time warp there for awhile.

A rupture in the space time continuum. ^_^

No Sharon, that is where I am living this year though!

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

A blip sounds a little better, Dave, but thanks!

June, it's all that snow over there, it causes 'ruptures'.....

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

It is 2:15, Wed. afternoon and it has warmed up to zero! That can cause a lot of problems for a Southern Gal!

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

You know, I spent two weeks in Chicago with family for Christmas and New Year's...it was snow covered when I got there and snow covered when I left. It was also hovering around 10 degrees the entire time. I could not wait to head south for home and warm.

So when I got home on Sunday night, it was 12 degrees.
Today it was 10.
And going to snow tomorrow.
Sigh.

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

This is a bad winter for the whole world.

I had to be out in it yesterday and am almost warm now. Not quite, but almost. Have you gotten the frost out of your bones yet?

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Not quite, but almost.
But the days are a little longer....

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

Yes, every day is getting us closer to spring ^_^

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

That was my bad - I had forgotten we didn't have articles queued up yet for Wednesday - I'm glad so many people notice them - and miss them when they aren't there!) That won't happen again, scout's honor!

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

It's not like you might be a bit busy with everything else though, right? At least you have an "early warning system" with those of us on the other side of the date-line ^_^

North Augusta, ON

I'm not liking the articles changing so early. I find I'm reading them the night they change and am left with nothing to read with my morning coffee :(
