Forget all that stuff, the girls are more aggressive now than they were back then! That's what's important!! lol!
Coffee Break #28 - The cold, dark days
Boy is that true! It's shocking, actually.
Everyone played softball when I was a kid, boys & girls. Season sort of short for baseball in WI so the boys had a summer league & ran track for the school yr.
Just read that they arrested lover boy who caused the Newark airport mess.
Tough luck, if he's lucky he'll get 20yrs to life...
I hope that kiss was good...
I'm just waiting till they stop us on the street and ask to see 'our papers', with machine guns ready...
If it keeps us safe from the likes of the pantie bomber and the Ft. Hood terrorist, I think I'm okay with it.
I'm not convinced of that.

I'm not convinced either. We are an imperfect species. We're bound to screw it up every which way.
niether am i - although that guy in Newark deserves more than a handslapping - a couple weeks behind bars, community service, and 5 figure fine would send the right message.
sorry victor that book is 3 to 4 plants - sell some ipod $$ and splurge - besides those types of books are outdated so fast - easier to use the Internet to do the research
It's definitely expensive, but will remain a major resource - as the previous editions were.
I felt VERY good and appreciative for the Nat Guard guys who patrolled after 9/11. I did not feel threatened by them. They froze their a**es off all winter long on the GW bridge.
It's not a question of sacrificing freedom for security. It's not an either/or deal. Way too many people look at it that way. I am all for body scanners. If they want to look at my weenie, who cares if it keeps low-lifes off the plane. Two terrorist acts on our soil in less than two months, after years with none, is very troubling.
I wonder at times why I even keep most of my books and magazines, with what is available online. Sitting down with a good book is still more relaxing than a CT glare, but I'm not sure I want to give that up either. LOL Ric
I think I would rather do a body scan than a pat down...whatever we need to stay safe is OK with me.
I can't imagine not having my books, can't really take the laptop comfortably to bed or the bathroom for that matter. But I do love the Internet for instant research...the best of both world we have!
I'm with you Ronnie, on both points
I agree - I like both. Love reading books - taking them with me to wherever. And gardening books that are encyclopedic in nature lend themselves to browsing much better for me than the web does.
Just finished moving a ton of pellets from the driveway to the garage. Had to lift each bag twice. I'm pooped!
No hand truck? ...that can't be any good for your knee!
I used the minivan, but still have to lift on and off.
sounds like good exercise
the bonsai place sent out the wrong date- it is tomorrow - of course i found that out when i walked in the door (i had ignored the email with the correction) - tough decision ray lewis sacking baby brady or free bonsai lesson
i have decided to refer to him as baby brady because he has become the biggest cry baby/complainer in football since dan marino - continually cries for a penalty if anyone even touches him - last week it was a 2 handed touch that caused him to go then boom boom and then the crying started - i could watch the baby so i clicked to the vikings game and just as the game comes on the tv favre is sacked hard by a late hit, watches his pass, gets up turns around and lends a hand to the guy who just almost killed him and pats him on the butt - clicked back and baby brady is still crying about the two handed tag - put Gisele's dress on! maybe he needs to do a wrangler commercial instead of men's cologne ads.
I always thought that of him!
re Newark: I'd say the security guard who left his post deserves the harsh punishment. There's all kinds of wackos (and love-birds) out there. Prevention is more effective than punishment.
I had to do a body scan when leaving Albuquerque. It was uneventful. I don't care about the "invasion of privacy". We all have body parts. I did ask about the amount of radiation it gives, and they said less than a cell phone. Considering high cell phone use is linked to brain cancer, makes me wonder... but then, not too much. I don't fly that often. Also, you can opt for a pat down.
I agree- books are much better for browsing, but won't give up the internet. It's great if you know exactly what you're looking for.
Choose free bonsai lesson, Bill!
The guard should be fired at the very least. The guy should not necessarily do jail time. I would make him do 1000 hours of carrying people's luggage and anything else that travelers need help with.
Still curious about the Kindle Would like to try one. Or any of the other eReaders.
good point harper about the guard.
still think some time behind bars would send the right message.
think i am choosing the game and i am not a fan of either. plan to take a three day training in march anyway.
They're all making much ado about nothing, they're just embarrassed they closed down the airport cause a guy kissed his girl and they freaked out. (lol!)
Jets are looking good! Should have three TD's.
three td's? should be a tie game - chad "soon to be johnson" ochocinco needs to to turn it on.
Edwards drop was a perfectly thrown ball!
can't count that - guy can't catch a ball
I think his number paint is on the ball.
The new speakers are sounding great!
I saw someone using a Kindle at the airport. Sorry I didn't ask him about it. Maybe you could get a good price on a used one? Is there a place you can go to try a sample one out?
Three days training on bonsais?? Oooh, fun! Wish I could do it. I hope you post pics from the lessons.
Glad to hear your speakers sound good Vic!
I like bonsai, but don't have the patience! Like watching glaciers.
i can post pic's of my notes?
LOL... 'watching glaciers'
Why not Bill?
not so sure about that - i spent 45 minutes there today with one of the workers who gave me a tour - lot's of "dead" garden bushes/trees that have been bonsai'd - pretty big ones too - as well as some dug up in the wild like birch's - it' is a whole other world
You do bonsai for your grandkids.
thought about that on the way home today - sounds kinda cool to me - in fact VERY COOL!
Kind of like getting excited about 100 year bonds.
