DAILY PICS VOL. 271

Wilmar, AR(Zone 8a)

OK, last one for now...I found a Towhee scritch-scratchin' around in the leaves behind the house last evening...the lighting wasn't great

Missy, congratulations on the new Warbler. It sure is cute. The goldfinches look happy with all that food. This is the first year I haven't seen a Pine Siskin with our goldfinches.

Burn your little dove is beautiful in that snow-brrrr! That little goldfinch sure looks curious.

Burd, this is one of my favorites of Elvis. Don't think you need the longer lens when you already get this close. You can't move! What will Elvis do without you? Also, that's a beautiful chickadee and junco. Sure looks cold though.

Beautiful Downy wp and love the flying shots. Love, love love the Starlings!

Margaret, you are so lucky to even see a Kingfisher sitting still for 2 seconds!

Pelle, stay warm!!

Birdlady, cute wp, wren, heron and kinfisher!! Cute titmouse and towhee too! Hope you'll stick around with us for a while.

We finally got a little rain on New Year's day and the birds looked pretty waterlogged.

That last one was a Dark eyed Junco and here's another one.

The rain continued so I took all these photos from inside. Finally got a photo of a male Ruby crowned Kinglet-kinda wet, but still hungry for the suet.

He sure was cute even if he was soaked.

We got done to 1 last night out here. It is 15 right now. That is supposed to be about it for today. Have no idea what the windchill is...and don't want to know! LOL

The female Red-bellied Woodpecker is stopping in sometimes, but the male still chases her off when he sees her.

Geesch Nanny, it's freezing there! Stay warm. Your birds are all cute and are probably glad you have lots of food for them.

Dunlap, IL

Lots of great shots everyone. Our feeder has been busy also, this morning it was a balmy -7 with a wind chill about -20. The birds don't seem to mind, the juncos and tree sparrows continue doing their thing. Here is a tree sparrow posing.

A junco enjoy the weather

A finch showing off his colors. The weather has caused alot of starlings to stay on the feeders. This has lead to a Coopers Hawk making several attacks on the feeder. I'm hoping the hawk will cooperate with some photos.

We have the house finches too. Here is one of the many males that I see near the feeder these cold days.

Crazybirdlady, That must be a great spot for birds at the river; nice pics!

Duc, That saturated Kinglet is adorable!

Nanny, Nice shots!

Chris, All your birds look great!

Dave, Love the angle!

Anchorage, AK(Zone 4a)

A lot of great pictures everyone. I'm afraid I won’t be taking any pictures today. It’s so heavily overcast the street lights are still on! It’s 11 A.M. local time!!! It might be one of those dark winter days when the street lights stay on all day.

Chris, great job on your sparrow, junco and finch. Hope the hawk moves on and leaves your birds alone. Also, hope it warms up for you.

Dave, spectacular pose on your BB.

Adel, that's a gorgeous Stellar. I've never been able to get one that close-great job!!

Wilmar, AR(Zone 8a)

Thanks, ducbucin, I love this forum, I just have too many other things going on what with my husband's illness but I enjoy looking at everyone else's pics even when I don't have any to post.
Your poor little soggy RCKinglet...I've never had one come down to my feeders but I see/hear them up in the trees all the time.
I do think the birds love the cold weather

Cupertino, CA(Zone 9a)

I'm so impresssed with all of your photos. They really are amazing!!!!!!!
I'm actually embarassed to post these but, here it goes

I've been seeing this woodpecker a lot. Unfortunately for me I can't get a decent pic of it. I think it's a

I swear this mourning dove stayed perched on this hook for about 10 mins. I thought it was dead and ready to fall
over. Glad I was wrong. LOL
