CHICKSS Sulking Queue part 2

Richmond, TX

It's never too late to join a good sulk, is it?

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

I'm sulking 'cause my sinus allergies have turned into an infection! Been sick since before Christmas! It is better though, I'm not coughing as much!

Joplin, MO(Zone 6b)

I'm hold my sinus infection at bay with Raw wildflower honey, vicks vapor rub, dutch licorice & lots of fresh garlic. :) It actually really works & i have severe allergies

Lodi, United States

I find forcing myself to sleep upright for several nights and taking a decongestant helps end sinus infections...the infection drains instead of stagnating in your head and allowing the bacteria to build up.

One year I spent almost 4 months with an infection that kept going from my sinuses to my chest and back...I hate antibiotics and I didn't go to the doctor. So I would go to bed, thinking sleeping would help--only to find it would go back to my sinuses during the night.

I haven't had a serious infection since I started sleeping sitting up at the first sign...sounds awful, but it works for me.

Joplin, MO(Zone 6b)

sitting up doesn't help me much.. once an infection gets started I'm just shot. I'm allergic to 98% of antibiotics so finding one that treats sinus infections.. AND that they don't want me to take so much i become allergic to incase of a bigger problem & I need it, gets to be a problem. That's why i started taking the raw honey.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

um.. grey dear.. er... maybe not good to breathe on anyone?

Joplin, MO(Zone 6b)

more like no one breathe on me! no to be honest I'm rarely sick unless I'm really really sick. They gave me a adult life time pneumonia shot when i was 8. It was an experimental thing.. FDA didn't approve bc it actually killed some people i think. but the doc gave it too me & two other kids bc he said if we ever got pneumonia again it would kill us. (I'm allergic to all meds that treat it) Other than allergies I"m usually pretty good. I've had the flu once in my life & that was bc i took the dumb flu shot.. never again.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

That is not good about pneumonia grey :(

Joplin, MO(Zone 6b)

no its not but i can't get it now.

Tee hee! Way to go Jane!

Joplin, MO(Zone 6b)

{{She's so cute!}}

Have fun Jane.. try to keep ZZ out of the snow. Its not good for her. :)

Richmond, TX

Where IS Henrietta?

Kingman, AZ(Zone 7a)

ZZ that is so dang cute, you should start a thread of her adventures....

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

I agree MissJ! That would be hilarious. And, from personal experience, I can tell you that Jane is not alone. She is accompanied by another farm critter...

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

I comizerate (sp) with the allergies! I've been sick since before Christmas with it. I take WM store brand allergy pills, they're expensive, but they work better for me than anything else. Had a rough night last night, though. Mine starts with pure water running from my sinuses, draining down my throat and causing a cough that makes my ribs sore! During Christmas I visited my daughter and forgot the pills, so I had to suffer till I got home! It really makes you miserable! (sulk, sulk!)

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

The connectified sulks keep coming and coming. Y'all are gooooooood (Note how I'm practising my southern)

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

You go, girl!

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Doe your HWD will be mailed tomorrow if we do not freeze during the night. LOL

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Henrietta? Have you seen Jane?

It's me silly, Hairyette, have you lost your memory?

I am very much afraid Henrietta has taken up with Bad Company and is sitting on Telegraph Ave in Berkeley pretending to be homeless with the other middle class teens. She probably has multiple piercings and a tattooed "tramp stamp" on her back, and is whining and shouting obscenities at the students and tourist while she and her friends annoy them by begging for ciggie and beer money.

I'm sure it is just a phase and will pass.

Did Cody mention if she left a note?

Portland, OR(Zone 8b)

Gee, I thought all those type people were living here in downtown Portland....lol.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Woooohooooo! My scarf (oops), my NWD arrived today! Along with a lovely lot of pethuds!!! They are sooooo yummy. Kelly and I dug right into a bag and he keeps going back for more. I am trying to save room for supper. Oh my goodness Wren, they are soooo good! So creamy! Some of the best pethuds I ever ate!

And check me out in my awesome new NWD!! I love the colours and I love, love, love the way that you tapered the ends of the scarf. What a super idea.

OK, yes, I know I am in my penguin jammies. If you have anything to say about that, you can take it up with the weatherman. It's too dang cold here to wear anything else. I came home from work and changed straight into my fleece penguin jammies and that's all I'm saying.

Glad you like it. I found it was easier to start with the tapered end

I still have 4 bags of the pethuds. Any one intrested??

Portland, OR(Zone 8b)

Me! Me! Me! Let me know what I owe for shipping.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

D-mail me your address and I will box up some and ship them to you. Do not worry about the cost.

I will have to mail them out Wednesday . as I have to make a rush trip to the dentist in Gainesville.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Methinks a picticious Book of Fabby NWDS by the CHICKSS is in order! Your NWD is OUTSTANDING dear Claire. Dear Wren you should be poofing with pride! Um a question about the pethuds: How exactly do you get near them without swooning Dr Doo?

Joplin, MO(Zone 6b)

Wren107.. where did you get them from? I've not heard of florida grown ones... are they paper shelled ones?

Lodi, United States

Love the jammies, Moxie!

The taper on the NWD looks wonderful---but it would be fiddly to knit. Must be a crochety thing...

I have a really nice recipe for spiced nuts...wonderful for pthuds....and it uses an egg!

Joplin, MO(Zone 6b)

Mom makes these tiny pies with them.. they are amazing.. and bite sized! I usually drive north & buy a few bags but didn't make it this year so we are out.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Yes we grow them in Florida but these where bought in Georgia(we sound a hidden pethump farm) they have been already shelled. Been in the Freezer for a time, but still good. Get more coming but these have to be shelled. Darns. LOL

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Gray d-mail me your address and I will send you some.

They are pint size zplock bags full.

Joplin, MO(Zone 6b)

oooo THANK YOU.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Thank you Catscan. I am a jammies afficionado. Does that make me a jammionado?

Joplin, MO(Zone 6b)

Grandpa had trees that we harvested every fall with them on there. It was a pain to harvest them... but they sure did taste great the rest of the year.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

We had 2 trees, one that produced good ones but the squirrels always get to them first. But that tree was dieing so it had to come down.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Almost forget, I manage to get them into the small box but it was a tight fit, had to put them into a larger bag so they would spread out. LOL

Lodi, United States

I think it makes you jammielicious....which is better than it sounds. Or perhaps a jammaven? Yah man.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Ooooh, I like both of those. I am both! A jammelicious jammaven. Yes! Ah hah! My true calling...

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)
