I looked out the window this afternoon and spotted these Calif. Quail scratching for seed in the snow.

I threw some seed under the front porch overhang and they seemed to appreciate it. Lousy pics, taken through a window with horrible lighting. Something has reduced the flock from 17 down to 7.

Adel, I love your quail. I miss them so much. I had so many when I lived in Trinidad.

Nice flicker Mrs. Ed! He does look like a good sized guy! I had a male out on the platform today but he got away before I could get the camera.

The girls are here so not much birdwatching time. They go home thursday morning....and I am exhausted as usual!

The middle one got the last worm.

I wonder if he thinks the string might be a big worm.

Everytime the bluebirds come around they seem to be followed by a flock of Pine Warblers.

and the fight is on.

I saw four goldfinch today. Anytime time now everything will be covered by them.

The titmouse still seem to be more interested in acorns rather than the feed in the feeders.

Frank, It's so nice to see the Pine Warbler!

I do love seeing all your great bird photos. I have around a hundred quail, coming in on and off all day. I only feed a small amount at a time because of the E. sparrows. I do have 25 to 30 goldfinches as permanent guests, Three nyjer seed feeders up for them. There is a nice Song sparrow coming in sometimes.

And quite a few House Finches, but other than those I have to depend on all of you nice people for birding pictures. Thanks

I can't get those Flicker to eat at my feeders. You must have some super suet there, Mrs-Ed. Frank those are wonderful. Cute Quail Adel, they must feel right at home at your place.
