Trust me smiley I DID tell him. That boy is the apple of his eye.
But in his defense he has been going through a lot of financial hardship. I am always telling him to be practical and stop buying things he don't really need.

But I didn't mean for the GS Christmas to be THAT practical.
I had given him some money for buying things and he made it stretch but all needed clothes, boots ect, and a big boy bed...but then he gave that to him.
He knew he would have plenty toys here and just didn't think thats not the same as getting them at home from Santa.
I know he is feeling bad over it...shhh slipped him a little extra cash so he could go buy a Santa toy.

Heck I don't need anything... and DH's boss and a couple of my friends with no children around were way to generous. Just paying it forward so to speak..

I'm starting over with little ones instant playmates. LOL

LOL JJ, if she goes through with it we'll have to make playdates! She dumped here for a week over the summer and then showed up when Austin was the only home and took him back 4 days later...So I told her if she brought him this time she better bring the paperwork cause we ain't playing the yo-yo game, kids need stability especially since he starts school this fall last year alone she moved 6 times...who does that?

JJ,your GS's a lucky little boy,to be so loved and cherished by his family.I know he'll have a lovely Christmas,with all his toys and new clothes:}

That's certainly true,about children needing stability.

My sons and my grandsons are spoiled rotten. My dad never had a lot growing up so he always made sure at Christmas we had what we wanted ( within reason) and not just what we needed, and when it came to grandkids they got it within reason or not, if at all possible.

My oldest was only grand for quite a while and he was really rotten.
I take after my dad ( he's been gone now 6 yrs) in the grandkid department..spoiled rotten.

I'm back for a few, Hi Joy I surely hope you get that heating going girl, No way you can heat that house with a small electric heater. Need to talk DH into getting some kind of back up heat sitting in a cold house is no fun at all. Just pretend your Frosty and you will do fine LOL. Man this stinks, about 300 feet of snow to top of drive is gonna keep me from getting to the kids tomorrow. Oh well, I know they will have their little families and enjoying the days ahead so that keeps me happy.Hey Trina, need to send me your vote girl. JJ you are a gem of a grandma for sure.

Thats too sweet JJ, If I ask they would come get me but would be a major imposition for them as it is a 60 mile comute there and back. Besides they have enough to do on the Eve besides worry about mamma. This way I get to hear about all the excitement going on at your houses and can keep buddy Moon company since DH and GS will be away.

oh well that sucks, then I will check in during the day and keep you guys company then too....unless you want to ride to Florida with me and kick some butt? LOL

Hi again everyone,it's snowing again here tonight and everywhere that'd been dug out's covered over again.
flowers,it sounds as though you've the same snow situation as we're having,just take care and keep warm.I guess we're lucky that my parents live within walking distance of our house,so we can see them on Christmas day and also keep our eye on them,make sure they're ok.Did their shopping this afternoon and delivering it to them tomorrow morning.
JJ,I feel the same about spoiling children and I know I'll be same if/when I've Grands of my own:}
Well,the boiler's working again.The fault was due to ice on the outlet pipe causing a blockage and so boiler automatically shut down.Repair man showed DH how he can hopefully prevent this occuring again whilst we 've this cold weather.So you can all imagine what a relief it is to have hot radiators again.
Will,my younger son's made the Kool Aid which you sent,he says it's a good refreshing drink:},thankyou.We've all tried Mounds Bars and Almond Joys,the Mounds Bars are same as our Bounty Bars,which I think Lynnie thought was the case.They're both good :}.We'll make the Jell-O very soon and give you our verdict:}
I'm off to sit a while in a few mins,9.10 here and been up a long while.On holiday now till next Wednesday.....no work!!!!

Oh My gosh Joy. wish I would have thought to ask what kind of furnace you had..
That happened to us last year after a big ice storm. Furnace (boiler) just quit working. Repairman came looked around found a breaker switch we didn't know was on the back of boiler that shut it down when the chimney pipe got covered with ice. Some safety feature freeze to death instead of carbon monoxide poisoning, a blinking light with buzzer to alert you of iced flue would be a better feature in my opinon then it could shut down after a short period if not taken care of.

Took him a few minutes and a push of a button. Expensive lesson

Whewwww was sweatin that one for ya Joy, so glad your warm again! Whoopie neighbor scraped the driveway so mamaw is on the road tomorrow!!!

I have a feeling my SIL is gonna kill Hubby when we go to MIL for christmas...her son is 4 (same as Nathan) and Rob got him a double barrel nerf gun! shoots those foam darts...I can't say much I bought some for our kids cause they like the nerf tag!

My GS's love those things especially when they accidently pop mamaw between the eyes with one lol

back in a little while, gotta get presents loaded and bath took.

the boys won't play with me anymore, say I win too much...I'm sneaky and come up behind them...but then again when you grow up on military bases where we have what we call "forced family fun events" Paintball was always a must and if ya didn't want to get hit you better shoot first!

ok I don't do christmas, we all know this...but hubby just came in with his 'stocking stuffers' I'm going back to the store later when the kids go to bed....we definately have a difference of opinion on what a stocking stuffer is...he got shaving cream, toothe brushes, deodorant, soap, little bottles of mouthwash.....sheesh and I thought I was a grinch....where's the candy, maybe a cd, thier's a cute little necklace Mandy wanted, and Austin a watch that wasn't too expensive

Na Na Na NOO NOO Trina is getting the spirit!!!LOL

Oh and don't forget the coal...LOL
