I stumbled upon this thread. I am a relatively new Brug devotee.
I had the same issue with daylilies on eBay last year. Hybridizers were outraged that their photos, of plants not yet released to the public, were being used to hawk goodness-knows-what varieties (probably the wild orange ones by roadside ditches . . . ). Again, it takes most of a year to find out one has been duped.
I was planning on getting some Brugs from eBay this year. So, if I understand these posts correctly, I would want to stay away from any seller (with apologies to the legit ones) who are located in Gretna, LA?

Why buy from eBay when you can go strait to the source. There are Brug growers that are members, gonetoseed is one. I think his nursery is Country Garden. You can't go wrong with JT.
casacola creek doing excellent! 3 cuttings of doubles some of the cuttings I bought are rooted! 3 cuttings for 5 dollars can't beat it with a stick! Doubles and triples and singles some are cheaper 3-4 dollars they combine shipping so thats not bad. Bought from Eddie to he treats you fine too.

Dave recently added a process that "bubbles" your prior review back to the top if you add on an update. Please do this only if you have had a subsequent transaction with the vendor, but when you take the time to add a new note, it lets you have a positive effect on the good vendors' ratings.
I just tried the link Terry provided. JT's Country Garden and Karchesky Canna are really the only practical ones from whom to purchase Brugs. A permit is required to import plants, cuttings and seeds from Monika Gottschalk's nursery, from the Hodnick Company and the 2 Canadian nurseries. Then those items have to be quarantined for two years. Buyer has to pay to get them inspected on a regular basis. So for most of us buying from those nurseries is impractical.
Fred's Sommer Gardens is not up yet, but promises to be up in time form spring planting. The Hawaiian nursery has 3 unnamed Brugs it sells. All the other USA based nurseries are closed.
I would add World of Brugmansia. EddieWayne is one of the owners. I've only made one order so far, but was very pleased with the plants I received.

Few years some one on ebay used my photographs as well as my descriptions twice and I reported them and in a matter of minutes the listing were taken out. since then I watermark all my pictures so no one can use it.You might need to watermark your pictures. Belle
Eddie I am so sorry Before I knew better he got me on 3 brugs that didnt even exist. he just made up names. Ebay needs to crack down or be boycotted.
You know I think the one who was doing this with daylilies might be the same person who is doing it with brugs. Method was the same. Stolen pictures and descriptions, made up names too. I think I remember an LA address too. I was gone from DG before it was resolved so I don't know if Ebay ever did anything about him.

Ebay protects there sellers! It is a crap shoot I have gotten some decent stuff there i did even buy flower seed from 7servant before I knew about this. It just stinks that they have to be dishonest to use other peoples pictures.
Ebay makes money off the sellers not the buyers so of course they protect them! Shame they don't give us a thought.

I was just wondering if anyone knows this person's name. I used to trade plants and seeds with a minister in Gretna, LA who used the name "godsgarden". He went by the name of Willie, and he was a great trader. He evidently had a garden behind his church, and sold plants to support the church. Are you sure that 7servant7 is the same person as godsgarden? I'd hate to see Willie hurt because someone else used his name. I sent him a bunch of seeds to replant things after Katrina destroyed his garden, and others did as well.
mollyd1953 ,i bought my brug through ebay it's "Morgensonne ",it's a really nice healthy plant .They are selling the same plant .There name was mentioned in the brug forum so i gave them a try and i will buy from them again.
Sorry " French connection" is coming from casacolacreek ,i have bought from them before and there plants are very nice.Morgensonne is from country garden.
I have noticed that there are many Ebay sellers that are not familiar with Daturas and Brugmansias. Some interchange the names and/or use both for what they are selling. There is one peonycapri out of Canada that has a photo of a Brugmansia with the name of Datura metel "Double White Lady". Makes you wonder exactly what she is selling.
Remember that Brugmansia blooms hang down on growth over 6 ft (actually a small tree). Datura blooms face upwards on growth approximately 3 to 4 ft. and bushy.
Another observation is that many sellers are selling the yellow double Datura metel and all using the same photo, or parts of it. Those photos are stolen from Parks Seed Co. So what are they selling: definately don't grow their own seeds.
One last tip: Daturas do not come true from seeds if you grow more than one variety during the season. They easily cross pollinate.
I grow 3 types but never during the same season if I want seeds. My daughter grows the D. inoxia for me as it is her favorite.
To prove my point, below is a photo of the pod parent D. metel 'Yellow Ballerina' x inoxia from which I collected seeds from. It has characteristics from both parents. Even 2 types of blooms on the same plant. The seeds do come true from this hybrid

Yes 7servant7's name is Willie and he does claim to be a minister. He has been asked many times by many people to stop selling brugs under false plant names, to stop stealing pictures for his auctions, and to stop Photoshopping pictures to change their appearance & color.
He lied to us at ABADS, trying to register the same plant under 4 different names (saying he was the hybridizer of 4 unique seedlings) by using photoshop to crop & colorize the pics and by taking them from different angles. Three other times he tried to get a single plant registered as two different new names (new brugs are more valuable on eBay).
Caveat emptor. ;)
eddie A few days ago, I came across 2 Ebay sellers using my photo to sell the same product that I was. It is how I saw it since it was a few listings above mine. It was not a plant so never bothered to put a copyright on it. I spend too much time producing a perfect photo to illustrate an item and will not allow my photos to be stolen.
First, I contacted both sellers. One removed my photo. The other one did not. As a matter of fact I received a colorful worded message not fit to print here. I then contacted Ebay. I had bookmarked the address if I ever needed to report copyright infringement. I am happy to report that Ebay answered within an hour and removed the listings of both sellers.
