Beautiful shot. Thanks for risking life and limb to get it. Good thing you moved when you did. Three of them could probably take you for a little flight about the neighborhood. Yikes!
DonnieBrook's Subtropical Adventures 2
LOL, Pat. They aren't very vicious, and I still have more weight to lose before that is a threat!!! LOL
Nice shot, Louise. How cold is it today?
Thanks, Victor! It started out in the 30s and got up to the 50s this afternoon. The weather guy just said that we are breaking a record that goes back to the 20's for the longest stretch of days with temps under 70 for this period of time. It looks like we will have 30s at night for at least the next 7 days. I might as well just leave my plants covered!!!
Nice brug shot, Louise! Got your d-mail and sent a reply. Thanks!
You don't have to worry about ospreys bothering your dogs, as far as I know. I think they only go after fish. I could be wrong.... I know Great Horned Owls will go after cats and small dogs. Eagles probably would, too. Oh, and gators, for sure. Yikes!
Brrrrr!!!! Sounds like I won't be escaping the cold much.
Karen
Karen - it's the owls and hawks that are most to be feared, so we keep a close eye on them and they are always on a leash with us attached (in good times, at least!). They had a really good day today.....very good girls, and yes, Celeste, there is no doubt in my mind that they would adore Sophie! "Trainer Louise" stepped in and put her foot down on some new boundary concepts. Hank is such a softie, but don't you dare tell him I said so, Karen!!!! LOL Depending on their behavior (day to day thing!) and if they are in their cuddly mode, Sophie might find them acceptable. LOL
Does this shot remind you of some Sophie/Brian pics????
Yes, Louise, that shot reminds me of some Sophie/Brian pics. LOL!
Boundaries are good to have with dogs. They need to know you're the boss, or they'll become the boss and run your life. My favorite TV show is the Dog Whisperer. Love him! He's my idol among dog trainers. Him and Victoria Stilwell on It's Me or the Dog. Both are great. I have always wanted to become a trainer. I would love to become Cesar Milan's student. Don't know if he ever takes on students. You know, like an apprentice. I would really love doing what he does.
Karen
did hank change into those shorts just to tease us louise?
Yes, Bill. He said, "Wait, let me put shorts on to yank Bill's chain!" LOL
i knew it!
hee-hee
Better yet, tell Hank to wear shorts AND block the aisle in the supermarket!
i have a response to that and can not type it:)
^_^
Tsk Tsk.....LOL We took the dogs to the dog beach today at Lover's Key between Fort Myers Beach and Bonita Springs. Technically, they are too young to be there, but we knew with the temps it would likely be deserted, and it was. It was perfect weather for us though, and the puppies had fun seeing the seashore and walking in the white sand for the first time. We both enjoyed being on an all-natural beach and having it all to ourselves as well. It is a very pretty spot with nothing in sight but vegetation and the gulf and sand. We saw a dead eel near the water. We did not block any grocery store aisles today, but there's always tomorrow. :)
I left out, '...wearing a Yankee cap.'
Hi Louise ,just dropped in to see whats shakin on your thread.
Your gardens are shaping up nicely.
Love the legs Hank
Hank just got a good laugh out of those comments!!! Thanks, JoAnn.....sure hope I still have some gardens once I take the sheets off. The produce farmers here got really whacked this week and they are saying the prices of vegetables here (and up in the northern states at the supermarkets) will double for about the next 6 weeks. Sorry I didn't have enough sheets to share with the growers! I'm leaving my plants covered until about next Tuesday. Oh, and by the way, Victor, Hank says he's with you about getting annoyed with "women" ...LOL....who block the grocery store aisles.
Ha ha! Bill is the one with a short fuse on that one!
I knew there was another reason to like Hank:)
He can just step over the offender.
Oh, that's right.....it WAS Bill. I forgot that. Anyway, he is usually a very patient person, but that is one of his pet peeves. We always split the grocery list and go in different directions. He ALWAYS finishes first and is waiting for me at the checkout area. I think he'd mow anyone down just to be first. Did I mention that he is a competitive guy? I admit I take awhile reading labels. He reads "lite" to mean low fat, no sugar, no calories and no carbs, all in one. If it says lite, he's there!! LOL
Well I am with him there. I do NOT like to shop in stores. Online was made for me! Worst punishment is accompanying my wife while she shops. Pure torture.
I'm not a big shopper myself....unless it is in a garden store.
Oh, Louise, your trip to the beach sounded great! I can't wait to be making some trips to the beaches myself. I know it won't be particularly warm there, but a lot better than here. Sure can't go to the beaches here these days, not unless you like freezing your tucas off.
It actually got up in the high 30's today, which is a nice change from the 20's we've been having. Oh, and I washed my filthy, salty car today, too. Wanted to do it yesterday, as it was Wacky Wednesday, half price day at the car wash, but every time I went by there was a long line and I didn't have time to wait, so I finally got it done today. Tomorrow we're getting light snow, so my car will probably be all dirty again.
Victor, I'm with your wife, for the most part I like shopping in stores, especially for clothes and jewelry and such. It's so much better when you can see what you're gonna buy in person before buying it.
Karen
That's what I gotta do. Wash my car. What a mess!
LOL! It's that time of year!
Karen
No sense washing it until April.
I'm home and it's TRES snowfull. I need a dahlia fix! How are the dahlia buds DonnieB?
Wow - long trip!! Lucky you. Nice to be rich. ^_^
how cool
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Sure you want to move into that neighborhood?
that is cool!
I dont think Ive ever seen one
Louise I hope it warms up soon for you and your plants. Next week is supposed to be better right?
D-Nut that is so cute. The opening looks like the arch of a cathedral. Very interesting location, but so different from up here in the NE.
