Bloom of the Day feature needs your help!

As most of you know, each day we feature a beautiful photo taken from PlantFiles as a "Bloom of the Day". This feature is important and used all over the place, and it's a great way to reward the photographers who submit such beautiful photos to PlantFiles.

The task of selecting them has fallen mostly to me for the last couple years. Members suggest bloom ideas and I occasionally go through and sort through all the suggestions and select the ones who I think might be worthy to be featured.

Anyway, I'm getting a bit overloaded and I wonder if anybody (or a couple members) would like to step forward and become the new moderator(s) for the bloom feature? The task would involve sorting through the suggestions from the other members, and also picking some out on your own. If you're interested, please dmail me! (I now have plenty of moderators - thank you!)

For everyone else, I'm always looking for suggestions! If you are in PlantFiles and notice a particularly nice picture, don't hesitate to click on "Suggest this picture for bloom of the day". There are so many pictures, that we rely on suggestions from the members!

Thanks for the dmails I've already received! I'll respond to all of ya'll in the morning.

There's still room for more if anybody else wants to get in. There's no reason we can't have several people moderating the bloom feature.

This is a wonderful opportunity.
It would be fantastic having several members going through all the super photos in the PlantFiles.

We've had 4 volunteers already, and I'm thinking there might be room for one more. 5 would probably be the max. I'm glad to have such an enthusiastic response, and I know ya'll will do great!

(Even better, sometime soon I'll be able to be surprised by the bloom along with everyone else. Right now since I am picking them, I don't get to be surprised!)

I'll try to be better about clicking that "suggest this photo" button when I'm admiring an especially nice shot in PF. :-)

Oops ... I see that I was a bit late in volunteering, I should have read all the way through the thread before sending you a d-mail. But, I will still continue to click on "Suggest this photo for bloom of the day" when I'm visiting Plant Files (which is quite often.)

I often suggest photos too, I really like this feature on DG!
