I know this kind of snow can he a real hardship for some people. But I really enjoy it. Just beautiful. I spent part of the day outside cleaning off my Juniper hedge didn't even get half of it done.
Just hanging out in the Butterfly bush waiting for me to leave.

f_chisolm - Oh, man! That is fantastic and just in time for Christmas.

You certainly look like a proud granddad.

Put up a suet feeder with a tailboard for wp. they haven't found it yet, but the titimice have. You would think that the downies would find it, they do everything else.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Precious find under the Cabbage Patch Frank. Watch him close. they grow up before you know it.

Sure wish I could a kinglet come to the suet feeders.....spectacular photos here!

And a tufted titmouse from my Mother's house.

In other news… there's been a local sighting of a Pileated Woodpecker! Gotta figure out how I can stalk that one, as it's on some private property on an island in the river.

misseymarie - that male Red-Bellied Woodpecker is really nice, and that Downy is fantastic, Looks like you were standing right nest to him.

Mrs_Ed - nice pic of the Cooper. A hawk is something I've trying to photograph for a while now. I did see one just the other day, perched on a telephone line by the side of the read as I was driving along. Even though, I DIDN'T HAVE MY CAMERA I pulled to the shoulder - and he/she just sat there teasing me! I need another 40D with 70-300 Canon lens just to keep in the car - yeah, right, like that's gonna happen.

Later today I'm gonna get in my car (my "blind, so to speak) and see what comes around my feeders - after I refill them.

Sacar, your bluebird is beautiful!
Pelle, stay warm and cozy inside your home.
Watercan, your litle lady looks like she fits in perfectly with the bare branches.
Met, awesome close-ups of the dove.
Holly, love your sparrow and goldfinch.
Burd, cute one of the nuthatches and crow. Is that corn in the log? I'm just using peanut butter and chopped nuts. Yours looks more exciting.
Congratulations "Grandpa Frank", that is a beautiful little guy! I think you were given the greatest gift of all!!
MMarie, cute photos of the wps.
Mrs Ed. love your little hawk, goldfinches and the titmouse.

I have Dark eyed Juncos everywhere now. Just love these pretty birds.

Gold finches still not showing up, even with the snow.

Sandusky, OH

Duc, the suet you see is called nutty delight, there is also blueberry delight on the log but the R-b NH's never touch it.

Marlton, NJ

Wow you really have a nice amount of Goldfinch Mrs Ed!

Pretty pics Duc! Feel better soon!

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

yes, it was especially busy that day. Had about 3 or 4 here this morning. All quiet right now though because a Cooper's just swooped through the yard and got another starling. They are amazingly swift!

Also, I haven't a picture, but on of the blue jays came and got a big ol' chunk of egg shell i put out for them. First time this season i've seen them take one.

The Downy female kept me company for some time. It was near record high for the day here, so I don't know why she was so puffed up.

Nice hawk Mrs. Ed! Even our Cooper's doesn't stop in. He just flies thru and makes everybody scatter!

The other day I put the tray feeder out by the window to get some birds in close.....I am desperate here!
