This Oak Titmouse looked pretty against the green leaves.
DAILY PICS VOLUME #267
I just love Cedar Waxwings, I know they are in our area but I almost never see them. A friend that lives next to the near by creek says he sees them all the time. A couple of years ago we had a big flock come in for the Juniper berries. I have a huge Juniper hedge. They came back the next year, I was so excited thinking that it might become a stop off for them but it was only those two years and nothing since. Not sure I can get good pics right now as the snow is coming really fast and blowing quite a bit. I will try later and see what I can get several WP have come and good and there was a Blue Jay just out there saying "take my Pic". My bird feeders are in view from here and I can watch they come and go as I type.
Great Kite shots, Just love those (Christmas Berry bushes ?) they make such a very nice back drop for your pics.
adel, nice variety of shots. I'm particularly amazed at the huge flock of Marbled Gotwits. I like the American Avocets, also.
Al, nice photos of the Bald Eagles. I would love to be up there today with all of the snow but lighting would be a real issue. I probably will only visit one more time.
Burd, excellent images of the Chickadee. I really can't tell the difference between them. We're very close to an overlapping region.
f_chisolm, I like the Pine Warbler. I did not see any during migrating season this year.
Margaret, your Nankeen Night Heron looks like our Black-crowned Night Heron. Nice photo.
duc, excellent shots. And, nothing beats a photo with Cedar Waxwings in a bush, with red berries.
We have 9-10 inches of snow here, and still snowing. I just came in from shoveling and too tired to squeeze the shutter release button on my camera. I'll just look at everyone's photos and watch the birds out the window.
Nice shots Duc!! You can fix-up your White tailed Kite with picasa/photoshop, still those are nice clear shots for the weather that you were having.
As I was driving to work yesterday I seen an American Kestrel sitting on a power-line, may be no big deal but its been at least 20 years since Ive last seen one. As far as snow here, it started as snow last night but when daylight hit it changed over to rain. The lake will give in sooner or later and it will all be snow. I guess we will be seeing a lot of (snow shots) on the threads soon.
Great shots duc and adel!
We're getting hit with this bad snow storm and there are lots of birds at the feeders. The Starlings are here (at the feeders) for the first time since early Summer.
Nice ones guys!
The snow has brought the first Pine Siskin's of the winter around!
All of them are winners!!!!! :)
Nice shots all! Will not be getting some of the heavy snow that some of you are getting, maybe a couple inches at most.
Adel, Nice shot of the Black Phoebe!
Nanny nice shots of the Female/Male Red-bellied WP and the Flicker!
HollyAnnS, you must be near the snow belt there. Nice shots!
WaterCan, great shot of the Cardinal and the snow!
Resin, very nice editing!!
Well even though I would of liked for a nice sunny day, the new camera did get some good shots for me. Some are cropped and slightly edited. Start off with a Male House Finch.
Man, these pics just keep getting better and better.
ducbucln - lots of great shot, but I like d the White-tailed Kite the best.
adelbertcat - good snap of the Black Phoebe.
HollyAnnS - isn't that first bird, the one you said was hiding its face, a White-throated Sparrow?
Burd_Fotos - that new camera is kicking butt. Great pics, don't know why, but I think I like the nuthatches the best, I say a Brown-headed one here today.
adelbertcat - that Willet is an unusual looking bird.
Hack
Adel, great photo of the phoebe. They sure don't sit still for very long. Great one of the willet too.
Nanny, love your wp. That red on the back of their heads sure makes nice pictures. Cute flicker too!
Holly, I know it's cold and wet, but I love the photos with snow and birds in them.
Watercan, your cardinal is gorgeous.
Resin, thanks, the kite sure looks better.
Burd, that first picture of the finch is adorable. Love the way it looks like it's enjoying the rain drops. Cute photos, all of them.
Hack, that brown headed nuthatch is a new one for me. Great variety of birds there.
I spotted another Ruby crowned Kinglet at the suet.
