Dronfield, United Kingdom

Hi everyone and good morning;945 here now and the rains stopped,thanks Lynnie glad i'm the voice of reason !?,my DH wouldn't agree :}
Don't worry about the christmas tree,my sons were the same when small and i used to try to keep the tree halfway descent,and stopped bothering in the end :}.Now at 14 and 17,i'm lucky if they notice there's one there at all Lol
Trina,hope you get your Orchids:}
Venice ,no wonder you're tired after all that shopping,hope you're able to have a rest today.It's good though,when you go on a shopping trip and find lots of good stuff
:}.
I'm going to see Santa this afternoon,i've written my letter to give him :}
JJ,looking forward to your reideer photos,you'll haveto turn R's nose down while you take them.:}
Dave,hope you don't mind,i asked what kind your dog is cos there are some like him here but ,I think ,smaller,if you told me i missed it ,cos i'm still finding my way around threads.He looked so cute.
I'm going to go and start my day now :},so hope you all have good ones,I think we've been granted the warm weather 46,this morning.!!
Talk later,
Happy Sunday
Joy

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Morning Joy
Glad you are having some nice weather.
I will get that picture posted hopefully sometime today..

Thanks flowers......I know I'm a mess..lol

Coffee's ready.....now time to search sale ads....

(Zone 5b)

Morning all! It's 29 degrees, got an icy coating yesterday, not anything to be able to play in :(
Dave are you still in the hops? *grin*
JJ stop giving those reindeer maragritas maybe their noses won't be as red
I didn't finish making my soup yesterday, I accidentally ate all the ground meat for the tiny meatballs... whoops!
I'll post a pic of my tree...it's a bit smaller than usual but it was slim pickin's at the tree farm, and the line was out the door. And it was $37, which seems kinda high to me for a small tree.
Joy have you been a good girl? You might want to put in a good word for the rest of us here, after all the cussin' & drinkin' *grin* might have to change our name to Soldiers on Leave hahaa

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Good morning all. Lynnie, where's my photo?

I remember putting up the tree when the kids were little, my mom bought us a set of porcelain Disney ornaments. Angela used to re-arrange the ornaments the way *she* wanted them. All at the bottom. Every day I would come home from work to a broken ornament. Good thing for glue.

We put our tree up last night (needed to buy a fake one years ago-too many allergies), I plugged in a set of lights. They worked. So I put them on the tree, plugged them in and they didn't work. *^%$#%%^^ Went to Target, didn't have the colored lights. So my tree has 1 strand of lights on it, I need 3. DH said we had more, so now I have to go searching through boxes.

It's 29° here too. I haven't looked out the window, but there wasn't any snow in the forecast. Sunny & high of 35.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Got you both beat its 27 here.
Smiley what number is that degree sign?

I am suppose to get snow today through Wed. but none yet.

Lynnie that seems high for a big tree.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

JJ, if you press the alt key (hold it down) and do 248 on the number pad you will get the degree sign. You can't use the #'s on the top row, it has to be the number pad to the right on a regular keyboard. I don't think laptops have the number pad on the right, so if you use a laptop it won't work.

Jesup, GA

Good morning all!! Who's cooking breakfast this morning? I'll have ham and egg,a biscuit and gravy and a cup of coffee. Smiley,such a cute picture! Feel like I'm being haunted by snuggies,snuggies are invading america at a rapid speed....Grin

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Good Morning Dixie. That was Angela at a friends house. She wouldn't own a snuggie if her life depended on it, although she's always wrapped up in a blanket.

We had breakfast for dinner last night. I'll have a bowl of special k, please. Haven't had biscuits & gravy in forever. Used to make it all the time, had a bad experience when pregnant and that was it. Good thing, I'd probably have the whole sausage factory hiding under my shirt.

DH wants computer, catch up with everyone later. Have a great day.

Jesup, GA

Hi JJ's and Lynnie! What do you girls have planned for the day? Joy,have a happy Sun. your self. Have fun visiting Santa! Hope he has something in his bag for you....Grin..Smiley,sounds like we are all having cold weather. Ya got enough of those snuggies to go around? I want mine in leopard print! Grrrrrrrrrr! Still having to use husbands computer in shop. Freezing my rear off and have the little space heater on.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Hi dixie
I'm off to town to do a little shopping.
Tired of being in the house.

Stay warm, trade him computers, take his in the house.
Have a good day

Jesup, GA

Bye Smiley...See ya a little later! Moon! Flowers!wake up sleepy heads! Hope all has a good morning I'mmmm,cooold brrrrr. This heater in here is not making it one bit warmer. I'll come back on a little later...Hopefully it will be warmer by then.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good Morning Ladies...36 here right now...don't see how it is going to manage to be in the 70's in a couple days. Smiley, Angela is such a lovely girl...she has such a beautiful smile...reaches her eyes and lights up her face.

Dixie, thought you were cooking this morning...grin

JJ, has DH discovered he broke the shower yet...LOL

Lynnie, trees are just stupid expensive this year....running about $10-15 per foot depending on the variety..

Joy, we are gonna have to figure out a time for everyone to meet here so you get to share in the back and forth....

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

uhg...I don't want to be up!

(Zone 5b)

I just got back from the gym...didn't wear my sweat jacket home even though it was 32. Flowers I stopped outside the candy store & beeped & beeped I saw you ducking between the aisles!
Smiley was that your daughter, I thought that was a model ;) she's beautiful.
Dixie where's breakfast? I'm HUNGRY
I don't know what kind of tree I have....um....pine.
Smiley I went through my computer, all the pics of me are partials haha you want a pic of my foot, my right eyeball, or my butt? Maybe you could make a picasso out of them. I'm the ghost mom, behind the camera never in front. I'll see what I can do.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Thank you for all the kind words on Angela. She is a sweetie pie.

.. still trying to figure out where she came from LOL.

I know how the photo thing goes Lynnie. If there *are* any pictures of me, they're not very good, I'm not photogenic. If you can't find one, the porch picture will have to do. I got a real kick out of that one, the kid with the bunny ears.. my friend at work had an old photo she wanted scanned and it was the same thing. All of them on the porch steps with the kid & the bunny ears.

I'm off to Target. Did my ohmms, saw a few things on sale that are on lists. TG, DSJacob's girl got him his ipod. Sure frees up some funds for other things!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Whoopie it decided to work,

I am walking out the door but just for you guys I tried one more time.
Remember I am not a painter or artist so don't expect too much.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, thanks for adding rudolph to the group!! LOL Still love my card. It is really pretty and cute with all the happy bears.

After I made a post last night, I went out and got candles at GW after going to 2 stores. Only three might work and I will take the others back. I have a bag of things I am taking back!

I woke up early coughing so I took another slug of NyQuil. So I am still under the influence now. I will not be so foggy in a couple of hours.

Have a great day! Bright sun and 31degrees here. Tried to get the degrees symbol but screen disappeared and others popped up.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Lynnie, love your tree! Just the garland kinds petered out. I don't know how you put on your garland, but just put it on the part of the tree that shows, instead of around, take it back and forth.

Dronfield, United Kingdom

Hi friends,JJ,those reindeer are lovely :},no wonder it took you a while to get them made and painted:}
Smiley,you 've a very pretty daughter,she's even beautiful wrapped in that "Snuggie",which unfortunately,is the name of a brand of disposeable baby nappies in this country lol.I think those blanket type things are called Snuglys here,they do sell them .but I've always imagined I't be just too hot with one round me in the house,and also,would you answer the door in one,or manage to get it off quick enough to answer door without it :}
Lynnie,how do you eat meat accidentally?...Lol,you'll have to make my kind,veggie.
29 degrees's cold,17 less than here today.My Geraniums are still blooming.I know you're zone 5B,but where in US is it exactly,if you don't mind that I ask.
Have I been good ?,It depends on how you define good....Lol and who I'm being compared to,hehe:}
Moon,thanks for your suggestion of a time for everyone to meet and chat together.It's difficult i know cos I'm so far ahead ,plus on days I work,Mon,Wed,Fri,
I'm up very early so don't stay up late and I miss everyone.If it's not possible,,,just carry on as you all do and i'll contribute when poss.I'm happy just to join in,I love it,even if I do miss out some largish bits of thread and start talking about something completely different :}
Yes,I saw santa this afternoon at a local garden centre I like to go to.They'd built a groto for children to look at with Santa sat on a straw bale and as there are a few farm animals living there all the time anyway ,they were there and although it's pigs goats and chickens not donkeys or reindeer,it looked like a Nativity schene,with santa,instead of Jesus etc.I went with a friend of mine,but we both wished we could've borrowed someones little child,as ours are all too big to take now:}
Hope you're all having a good sunday,so far,nearly 5pm here and dark!
Be back later
Joy

Dronfield, United Kingdom

Lynnie,it's a lovely tree,I mean it :}

Keaau, HI

Good morning everyone! Aloha aku!

Hi Joy, that dog is a neighbors pet. Not sure what type it is, but it's a bit overly friendly.

Here are my dogs, Kea and Ku!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Lynnie, your tree is great. A child's work of art, how could you fix it, although I know the overwhelming urge is there. I used to subtly rearrange after Angela "fixed" our tree.

JJ, you are definitely too hard on yourself. Those are great reindeers! Good idea on not putting Faline in there, though.

Joy, I think the correct name for those blankets *is* snugly, will have to pass on what you call snuggies are across the pond. DD would get a kick out of that.

I'm off to search boxes for more lights for our tree. I hope everyone posts pictures of their trees, I'd love to see them, I'm sure everyone agrees.

Jesup, GA

Hi every one. I'm back for another short stint in the meat locker...Grin...Lynnie I see nothing wrong with your little darling tree. It' looks as if it was decorated with love. Dave the dogs are as cute as ever. JJ's I love all of your little decorations! Come on down any time and decorate for me! Trina if you don't want to be up go back to bed silly! Moon,hope Tooter's has a little coat on! It can get chilly in the compost pile with out his little parka. Tooters has probably burrow his way to Baton Rouge by now. Grin...Will every one send me their add. for my x-mas card list? If some of you would rather not I'll respect that as well. And wont love you any less....Grin

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Ditto for me too Dixie *ahem* Jim, Kassy, Rachel, Dave & Seeds

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hi Y'all, hope everyone is having a great morning/day/evening...whew GRIN

Lynnie that is such a happy tree...just smiles kids and Christmas....but the little one a couple more garlands and you will both be happy...lol

Joy, Santa just loses a bit without a little one's excitement....but still a pleasure to watch any little one light up when they see him.

Venice...you keep taking your meds and get better soon...

Smiley...good that DSGF bought the Ipod....now he will have the extra gifts of underwear and socks....grin

JJ, I love the reindeer....you always make me smile....8-) (see?)

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Dronfield, United Kingdom

Dave,thank you for photo of your 2 lovely dogs,i thought the other little one was yours too.I don't have a dog ,but here is my beautiful Theodore,under his Ponsettia.

Thumbnail by joyhughes
Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Aw Joy, Theodore is such a cutie....just don't let him munch on the ponsettia...bet he gets great traction on the carpet....grin

Dronfield, United Kingdom

And this is Beau.

Thumbnail by joyhughes
Keaau, HI

Theodore doesn't appear to be in a hurry!

Thumbnail by Metrosideros
Dronfield, United Kingdom

Moon,he can walk really well on the carpet,but slides around on the kitchen /dining room floor cos it's lino,and we can hear his little feet clicking along.The Poinsettia's too high for him to reach to chew :}

Dronfield, United Kingdom

Dave,he's not in a hurry on this photo,but you'd be amazed at how fast he can move sometimes,he has a thing about feet and follows me trying to bite either my bare feet or whatever i'm wearing on them,apparently it's a sign of affection!!!
That's a pretty lizard,is it a Skink,and is it in your garden or your pet ?.I love reptiles,but feeding them with live food puts me off having one as a pet.As Tortoises and Budgerigars are vegans,I'm ok with them :}

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Jim, I was not trying to decide if I should go out with the cat or come in. He was being very cuddly at that time, so my son took a picture of him, and me. Trust me, he would not have been that cuddly if we had been coming in. That cat loves the outdoors, in the summer only, (He won't step in snow so that is an advantage for me in winter). If he gets out in the summer, we have to try to catch him, and he is far from a cuddler then..............LOL
He is more of a growler then. He got to play outside for 2 years while we lived in the country, but since we have been in town, I won't risk letting him out. A highway way to close and too many cars around.

Lynn, that tree is cute. My cats would love it too.
We spend half of Christmas picking 2 of the cats out of the tree. We have to be careful what ornaments we put on, as Buddy loves to play with them, and him and Babie both climb the tree and knock branches out.
The big guy pretty much leaves it alone now.

Jean, you have my address :-p

*ahem* what smiley?

Time to head to bed again........
6 down and only 10 more nights to go before I have a day off :-|

Oh, and I drove home in snow Thursday morning. We have been having flurries off and on ever since. This next thursdays low is listed as 1 degree........burrrrrrrrrr
Dave, please don't tell me what it is over there!

Keaau, HI

Hi Joy, it's an Anole, they are wild here. We also have Skinks & Geckos, I'll try to get photos of them for you.

Keaau, HI

Thumbnail by Metrosideros
Dronfield, United Kingdom

Kassy ,have a peaceful sleep and a good night at work,you'll certainly be ready for your day off,take care.
Dave,I've never heard of an Anole before,thanks.I would love to see photos of wild Skinks and Geckos I've seen them here,but only for sale as pets,never wild .I love Leopard Geckos and Blue Tongued Skinks and also Chameleon,but well,really all lizards are beautiful.Maybe with the exception of Camodo Dragons,wouldn't want to meet one of those :}
