Twenty-one days to shop, shop shop

(Zone 5b)

Joy notice that stubborn set to the jaw there in Jim's picture.....there is a picture of a man who will not eat ripe tomato pie.

I need coffee.

(Zone 5b)

Venice and anyone else who may be starting a lot of seeds, found this economical way to do it. Cut toilet paper rolls in half, place on aluminum tray, fill with soil and plant seeds in them. When you go to plant them outside, just plant the roll and tear off around the top so the soil is at the right level.

Hi Lynnie,Yes I often NEED coffee,myself :}
I see what you mean about Jim's jaw but it's still a good photo.
Ripe tomato pie sounds rather soggy ,so I would'nt blame him:}
I've never used that seed sowing method,but one of my friends does,she saw it featured on a TV gardening program as a suggested thrifty idea,no need to buy small pots,or seed modules.i just seem to have so many pots stacked in the garage,that I'll be a while wearing them all out :}
JJ,I hope the Dr can give your Grandson something to help his cough,best to see Dr,especially if he's not getting any better.My younger son has Asthma,so gets a lot of coughs and chest trouble ,so I know what it's like.
It's 8.45,here now,and I must go and do a few things before it's later and i don't want to do them.
Talk tomorrow,good night all
Best Wishes
Joy

Hi Joy. I was 15 in that shot. 5' 10" and 185 lbs. The set of the jaw is Goodman stubborness. A family trait. Sometimes it has been a blessing and at others it has gotten me in a lot of trouble.

The Ripe Tomato pie comes from a recipe I sent to some folks. It was Green Tomato Pie and it really tastes a lot like green apple pie if it is done right. My wife looked up the receipe for me and decided she would make one. The tomatoes were a little to ripe and it was horrible. Nastyest mess I ever tried to eat. I am one that never complains about what my wife cooks so I tried my best to eat it. Finally, I looked over at her and said, "Baby, I'm sorry, but I just can't eat this." Then I noticed that she had just taken on tiny bite. She had been sitting there watching me and wondering how I could stand that terrible mess. Forty-eight years I've been eaten that woman's cooking but that was the worst. She was trying her best to keep from laughing at me. "Bless her heart." That is what we say in Louisiana when we'd really rather choke her. It is our way of making allowances for each other.

How do you like this pic. I haven't always been fat and ugly.

Hi Flowers, you should have come on an got a hug. The one thing in life that I'm the Champion of is hugging. The women at church always line up for a hug at church. I also wear a high $ colone that makes me smell really good. One of the deacons at church told me that he was tired of his wife telling him how good I smelled. I told him if he'd break down and spend a few bucks instead of wearing that $2 a gallon stuff he used, she would brag on him for a change. Lord have mercy it is good to be old and not owe anyone a dime. True independence for the first time in my life.

Alright Lynnie tell us which one is it? Lovely family by the way. All siblings?

Delhi, LA

I know which one you are Lynnie, you are the pretty one.

Thirty years of pastoring teachs you to be very diplomatic.

The tomatoes are a bust. Pulled one that was ripe today and it had a rotten spot.

The colone is $80 for one ounce. Hey, that's not extravagant. My wife likes it.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Ohhhhh sweet Jim, keep the home fires burning LOL

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hi Jim...so what is this treat for the ladies called? (besides Rev Jim?)...Grin

Delhi, LA

You were right Lynnie when you told me there was a family resemblance. You all favor.

I have four sisters and we don't resemble each other. They are all fat and ugly and mean. I was always pretty, sweet and loveable.

Six girls in Jo's family and they definitly resemble eack other.

(Zone 5b)

that's most of us, 2 weren't born yet. my mother liked to cut our hair herself....she would keep trying till she got the bangs straight.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

LOL Lynnie, didn't you love it when they stretched the bangs real tight and cut. It would spring back to the top of the head and had to look like Mork on Mork and Mindy Show. LOL

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Jim where did ya go? Did we make ya blush??? Please tell us a story

(Zone 5b)

no, she cut a little, saw it was crooked, cut a little more, crooked the other way, cut a little more....she still does it to the babies in the family.
