Oh I'm first again!!

You are all gorgeous creatures! Jim, your photo looks just how I pictured you, your warmth comes right through.

I have to post this again, note DH's head of hair, if anyone wants any. He has enough for all of us. He always says (whenever anyone comments on his hair) "better gray than nay"

it's also easy to pick him out in a crowd.

Good Morning Smiley. Yup, DH says the same thing....been going gray since high school...has a full head of curly graqy....grin

(Zone 5b)

Mornin! I remember that pic Smiley, your family is beautiful!(sleepy I spelled it beutififfle first haha) your husband looks distinguished, only fitting for a garden goddess such as yourself. How old are your kids?

Jim you're even cuter than I imagined.

Moon I have to re-read that thread did you see figaro or Cosi Fan Tutti? Maybe coffee first, re-read second.

Anybody else up? It's over 60 degrees here and raining it's DECEMBER. This is not good! Where's the snow? I want snow. I admit it, snow makes me happy. I can't sled in rain! I can't rainmen! :(

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good Morning Lynnie. I saw Cosi fan tutti..I have also seen Figaro and the Barber of Seville

Looks like your snow has gotten lost...predicting 2 to 4 inches of snow for the Texas LA border....Huh....not supposed to happen.

(Zone 5b)

I'm not happy about this weather! Send me a snowball.

Did you like Figaro?

My little one got her second swine flu mist yesterday. Finally got those in. She needs the seasonal one. Older one is all set. I got mine at work.

Jim did you get yours, you hang around hospitals quite a bit.

Dronfield, United Kingdom

Hi all and good morning,although it's already12.30 here.
Smiley,thats a lovely photo of you and you family.
Moon,the little boy with your DH's cute,Grandson I assume.
My DH also has a lot of hair,still mostly dark brown,I've more gray than him and he's 4 years older than me,a fact he likes to remind me of.He hates being photographed though ,but don't worry I'll get him :}
Weather here turned a little warmer,so it's drizzly and damp :{,I'd much prefur it to snow.
Been for a swim this morning,and yes,it was in an indoor pool.
Hope you all have a good day and hopefully I'll be back in touch later.
Supermarket shopping though,from about 4 pm,as DH finishes early on Thurs,he likes food shopping more than I do,so doesn't mind going with me each week.
Take care,everyone
Joy

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Figaro was okay, I had just seen way to many Warner Bros. cartoon renditions to give it the proper respect.....kept seeing Marvin the Martian, Elmer and Bugs.....grin

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good Morning Joy. My DH does quite a bit of the grocery shopping. It allows him to add things to the list that I might not...grin...Have a nice afternoon. hope to see you later.

(Zone 5b)

hi Joy....I love to food shop too :)
My hubby is younger than me but he looks older, so I can still pretend to be in my 30's.
Where is the indoor pool you swim in? I plan on going to the gym after volunteering at school today.

Jesup, GA

Lovely pictures all! At least I can put faces to names now. We had storms all through last eve.and night. It's a mess over here. Still very gray and gloomy over here. I was reading about the hair coloring. I quit coloring mine a couple of years ago. I'm going au'natural! Might quit wearing clothes too. Just fuzzy socks. Grin..Cuts down on wardrobe expence huh Lynnie?

(Zone 5b)

that's right, Dixie, gotta save money for plants, and you can match your fuzzy socks to your gray hair *grin*
I'm too young for gray hair , I'm only 24 (she says with a perfectly straight face)
Moon I love Marvin the Martian! Maybe that's why I think Figaro would be better! lol

Jesup, GA

Lynnie you are full of Poo poop! Grin....Yes a lot of fuzzy sock colors will go with gray. Figure I cant go wrong. Good,morning Moon,Smiley and Joy. Let's go dump Flowers out of bed! Bet the old thing hasn't even turned over yet! Grin....

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I would love to let my hair go. I think to look nice, it has to be a really smart haircut, and I have too many sausages hiding on my hips for that to look good.

Lynnie, I love Mozart, he's my favorite. DD used to take ballet, and would only listen to classical music when she was young. I must have seen Amadeus 10 times, such a great movie. I love the way Salieri (F. Murray Abrams) describes how Mozart introduces the instruments in his works.

And how Louis XIV said "too many notes, take some of them away!" And Mozart said "take some of them away?? there are neither too few nor too many notes, there are exactly as many as needed".

We use that line a lot - too many (insert), take some of them away.

Son Jacob is 19 (20 in January) and Daughter Angela is 16 (17 in July). Jacob tends to make a dorky face when photographed, he's much cuter in real life. As Lynnie knows, we are in Fenway Park taking a tour BEFORE THE RED SOCKS BEAT THE PANTS OFF THE OAKLAND A's. Sorry. *ahem*

Don't y'all home colorers have a Sally's Beauty Supply near you? It's much cheaper to buy the color & developer & mix them yourself. Lasts tons longer than the boxed stuff you buy. And Herbal Essence Color Saving shampoo really works!

Off to the bank.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

FLOWERS!!!! GET UP!

Okay Dixie, I called her...grin My hair is going white, not gray. When it is completely white I will start using a platinum rinse and be the envy of women everywhere...LOL Think I can pull off "natural platinum blond" with nearly black eyes....grin

Jesup, GA

Mine too Moon. All of my dad's sisters when they started turning grey they had the white hair. Hope to pull of the dignified look......in my old age....grin..Smiley I call my sausage look,the spare tire . Grin...

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I prefer to call the extra me statuesque...and we all know how heavy those statues can be....grin, but just look how revered they are....LOL

Jesup, GA

Gotta go pick up the yard while it's not raining. That should take a while,it's a mess. I'll see yall a little later. Be good,and have a (GREAT)day every one.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Bye Dixie. I gotta get rolling too...sees ya later

(Zone 5b)

Smiley I LOVED Amadeus! I might have to watch that again!
Your son is very cute. He can make all the dorky faces he wants ;)

I tried home color once, turned out pink. I need PROFESSIONAL help ladies! lol

Stop talking about sausages, it's making me hungry.

Dronfield, United Kingdom

Hi again,just a mesage,break from cleaning house,any excuse :}
Moon I agree that's probably the reason my DH likes to grocery shop,so he can buy whatever he would like.Mine also has a thing about checking contents of cupboards to make sure we have a stock of some things Lol,he says he does it cos I'd not notice we were short of something till we'd run out completely :}
Lynnie,I like to shop for other things,my favourite being books and plants,eqally.It's only really food shopping I'm not so keen on.
I'm very lucky,the pool I swim at is only 10 minutes walk from my house.There's also a gym,squash and badminton courts and excersize classes in the same building.
As I say I'm very lucky where I live.Within easy walking distance there's also a public library ,small shops,train and bus services.and my sons' school.
When you volunteer at school do you help out in class,if so what age of children is it with?
I'm not sure if my DH looks older than me or not,he was 50 last sunday 29th Nov and I'm 46,47 in Jan,so I don't think 4 years at our age makes much difference to how much older one of us looks,he might say different :}
Dixie,you'd not be warm enough here today just with your fuzzy socks on,cos it's damp and cold,gets into the bones,even with the clothes on.
Did the storms do a lot of damage in tha garden and round about ?,i hope not too bad and i hope they've passed now.
I used to be always changing the colour of my hair when I was younger ,then a few years ago I stopped.Now I'm getting a few grey hairs,maybe I should start again ,don't know:}
Keep having a good day,all
Joy

Dronfield, United Kingdom

Also,hair colouring and swimming pools sometimes don't mix,my friend had her hair coloured blonde professionally,and the chlorine in the pool water turned it a sort of pastel green!!!,she had to have it re-done and keep out of the pool.
See you later
Joy

Jim, you are a darlin looking man and I did not detect one gray hair either;-)

Smiley, you have a very beautiful family. I remember just how pretty your daughter is from a picture you posted of her a while back.

Lynnie, your only 24yrs. young? You can most certainly have all the white stuff. I will take warm/sunny weather any day.

Jean, Your hubby look's like he is having a ball playing with the grandson. Great picture.

Joy, so good to see you again and hope you enjoy your day.

Dixie, I am with you too...got to get outside and find the deck chair's. I think I see them way down in the pasture.

Hope everyone has a great day. Will check back in soon.

Delhi, LA

You all are to kind. I am well aware of my looks. To many miles. As for the hair, in the summer I wouldn't give two cents for it, in the winter I wouldn't mind having a mane. Bald equals cold in the winter.

Come visit tomorrow Lynnie and we will have a snowball fight. It is colder than a well diggers hinny in Ideho down here in good ole Louisiana. At least the weather man has said the upper air moisture has moved out and we should get real powdery snow instead of the slush we usually get.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

You are great looking, Jim. And to top it off, the eyes are the window to the soul, and you can see the real you right through, Mister!

(Zone 5b)

yes, that's right about Jim's eyes....Jim I've been working out you sure about that snowball fight? *grin* actually I'm blowing off the gym today, it's 66 & sunny a beautiful spring day here in MA in Dec, thought I'd go glare at my plants. Still windy, a picture just blew off a table. I opened the windows it's so darn warm.

Joy I like to shop for plants, food, and shoes :) Kids are 8 & 10, I've been volunteering in their classes since preschool. The 10 yr old's teacher doesn't need me in the room, so I do office stuff for her. The 8 yr old's class I'm in the room, and I love it. The kids are SO cute, so responsive. Maybe someday when I retire from nursing I'll do something like that. Wouldn't want to be a full time teacher, the paperwork and state policies would make me crazy. In college I was a driving instructor, I really enjoyed that too. Those kids needed an "adult" to talk to.....

I'm a little concerned neither Flowers nor JJ is here yet....hmmm... do you think they went shopping without us??

Rachel, I think you've figured out from the ages of my kids that I'm not as young as I said ;) I had mine a little late, really.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

'Allo ,'allo....grin Hey Everybody...Rachel, have fun chasing chairs....grin

Can't believe it is after 10 and no JJ.....hope she didn't freeze painting reindeer....don't think she intended to become part of the decorations....grin

Morning Jim....sounds like you need a fuzzy hat....grin
Joy, folks here pay a premium for the village community style of living...you certainly have it going on.

(Zone 5b)

Venice who's the hen?? LOL

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hi Venice...Dixie is gonna love that picture....grin How are you this morning?

Jim, It is because our eyes tell our story that we need to remember to live kindly and with compassion....we know what Jo saw all those years ago....and why she she loved what she saw....grin, But that still doesn't mean you aren't a rascal....grin

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Lynnie, my SIL does the same thing for the school system, full time now (because she wants to) and they pay her. She started out volunteering in the classrooms and made her way to the admin building.

Venice, cute picture!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

If the rooster is Jim, then the hen has to be Jo!!! Of course!

(Zone 5b)

Moon you just reminded me of my grandfather, he used to pinch our cheeks hard & say "allo allo allo come in how are you?" :)
I found antlers for JJ's reindeer where is she?? Somebody go see of she's stuck on the roof.

Thumbnail by Lynnie6868
(Zone 5b)

hahahaha I thought you were calling Moon a hen sorry Moon!
can I be the fat chick? *grin*

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I figure the oldest has to be Jim so he has to be the rooster. Then his mate is Jo, the hen. Then we are all the young chicks!!!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

When I was real little and my aunt first saw us, she would pinch our checks almost until they hurt!

I am going to lay down for a bit. Saw a few very tiny snow flakes for about 10 minutes this morning.

Hope you all are having a great day! Later!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Hellooo

Thanks for the concern
Not on the roof and not a frozen decoration.
GS was on computer this morning and I had to leave early for work.

Now have to go to friends and help out for awhile and then pick GS up from school and take him to DR. He has a nasty cough he can't seem to shake.

Jim think you look real hansom. Picture beams of kindness.

Got to run now hopefully I'll catch you all later.
I'll take some of that warm air Lynnie, when I get snow you can have it.

Later all

Delhi, LA

Well gang there is a long story of how I got Jo. She gets a serious frown on her face when I tell it. Also, I wasn't as ugly when I was growing up. I even had hair, although it was kept cut in a flat top.

Hi again everyone,7.30 here already,shopping done,all packed away and just eaten my dinner.
Hi back to Rachel who said hi to me :}
Jim,I agree with all the rest of the ladies,you look a kind friendly gentleman :}
Lynnie,I bet it's really good fun to work in a class with 8 year olds,as you say,they are so responsive at that age and so eager to learn.
I guess working as a driving instructor meant you got to meet many different people.I only work in a Newsagent,as a shop assistant,3 morning a week,but I like it because it gives me contact with people.I could never work somewhere where I was in a room all alone.
Venice,I love all those chickens,especially the tiny chicks,are they yours ?
Moon,Dronfield,where i live is a fairly typical small English town,and the facilities we have are very similar to what would be available in many other such towns.
Smaller communities [villages]sadly often lack many local facilities these days,where once they'd have had maybe a few small shops and a post office,for example.People are now forced to travel to the nearest town or city for most things.Local to me there aren't many clothes,books,shoe or furniture shops,for those I go about 6 miles to the city of Sheffield.There are however,5 garden centres,for buying plants and all other garden related stuff,within 3 miles of my home,so i'm quite happy,especially as they also have good cafes aswell :}
Hopefully back soon
Have a good afternoon all
Joy

Dronfield, United Kingdom

Jim,just seen your photo and before I go,must tell you It's a lovely picture,how old were you there?
if you don't mind that I ask :}
Best wishes
Joy
