No when I started to the daughter in law threatened to take him, she likes him like he is so may give him to her on christmas day as a start to their decorations. They should have their house by then. Why is it when you start a project they like and finish it they are around to tell you how they want it done. lol. I've been making cards like crazy too, do that while I watch tv so getting two things done at once. now just need to get them all mounted cards filled out and sent. Thanks again. Susan

Those are great !!!

Hope to get to mine soon, I have been waiting for a "Sage" weekend so we can work on our projects together. Her mother has been allowed to have her over night now and has chosen the one night that is available for her to stay with us so we only get her about every third week...I don't want to get started so will just leave it at that.

How kind of you Susan, I'm sure they'll treasure it...

Trisha, does the off/on visit's to her mom's create difficulties for Sage...must be confusing to say the least..

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

As long as the visits are on specified schedule she copes with it all very well....the issues before were that her mother would say she was coming on a particular day or time, then call and cancel or just not show up. Now that she is off of drugs and alcohol and holding down a job we have not had any of those issues....and she has been told that if that starts to happen again all visitation will stop.

They just don't realize how it affects the young ones..thanks goodness she's in a stable homelife and has you to bond with as well...

Betty my other snow man got here. Thank You so much. I'm going to start on him this weekend and hopeful get him threw. Susan

Victoria Harbour, ON

Checking up on everyone...I'm free if you want to work on your project today...send me a d-mail and I'll check in from time to time

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

I at least got a start today....got the stain on the back of all my pieces...now waiting for it to dry.

Can't get away for the TV today...it is the memorial for the four Lakewood Police officers. Just the procession of police cars from Lakewood to Tacoma was 2000 vehicles...almost 20,000 fire and Police Officers from all over the country attending...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Trisha that is such a sad state of affairs...my heart goes out to those families and must add also to the family of the shooter, must be horrific for them to live with the knowledge of what their loved one has done....

Can imagine your following the procession..know it's in your area, very far from where you live?

Glad you have started your project...looking forward to seeing it...always here should you need help or company...

How's that little one?

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Betty, Normally you would think that about the shooter's family but in this case most of his family and a few friends are in jail for helping him....he had told them ahead of time that he was going to shoot police, people at a certain intersection, and kids at a nearby school. No one called police...one drove the get away car, others hid him and gave him money and were working on helping him leave the state.....

This is all about 20 miles from us.

May have Sage this weekend...don't see her as often now that she has weekend visitation with her mother.

Hope to get the rest of the project finished soon...right now have some leather orders that we have to get finished for Christmas, had to deal with mothers car and frozen water pipes, have a shop dinner this weekend.... seems like it is always something.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Didn't really hear the entire story Trisha, you are right, with them helping they should have been charged...

Bet you miss your time with Sage..as time goes with her in school all day it takes away from bonding time...

Noah called me Friday night and asked if he could spend the evening with me...little later Kyle came over and spent the night...sure do miss all the fun time we had, but like with other things, they get older and have lives of their own..maybe if I took up playing hockey, snowmobiling, snowboarding and skiing I just might get to have more time with them..lol..maybe not, probably break my neck...

Was it that cold that your pipes froze? you are always up to something...I enjoy hearing what others are up to so I don't feel as though I'm the only one that has hectic schedule..

Don't after tomorrow night though, lots of time to play until the new year!

Should be going out and shovelling..
This is really our first snowfall and we've got quite a fall...might be freezing rain tonight...calling off floral arrangement..rescheduling for tomorrow night...

Off to crochet

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

We have had some record cold this week...they forecast 10* for tonight....then late tomorrow is should start warming up to the 30's,
maybe a little Snow Friday or Saturday...then hopefully back to our rain.

They did get mom's pipes thawed out without too much trouble, could have been a lot worse.

Got base coats on all my snowman pieces...making progress... slow but sure.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Am sure you'll be able to display them for Christmas Trisha..
As for your mom's pipes, remember when we were in Florida a few years we took hairdryer and kept unthawing..was rare to do so but a cold winter...

Are your mom's pipes likely to freeze again, we had to put a hot wire around them and that solved the problem

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

We don't get weather like this very often...maintenance told us to leave a trickle of water running in the back bath and the laundry tub and to keep the door under the kitchen sink open so the warm air can circulate and that would keep it from freezing again until it warms up this weekend....it has worked so far....and they pay the water. so that's okay.

Victoria Harbour, ON

yes, I've done that on cold/cold nights...so this isn't weather you normally experience?

Must be difficult, with having warmer weather you'd not have clothing to endure the bitter cold...

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

We have all the winter gear... we are close to the mountains...while we don't ski, we do like to play in the snow now and then. The business my husband works for sells all kinds of winter gear for cycling, skiing, hiking, mountain climbing etc. We are used to thirties and forties, just not more than a few days where it is in the single digits or teens...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sounds as though you've got it all under control....best of both worlds..there was an ad on radio this morning 'seeoffvacations' think I'm going to key it in and see what they have coming up..might beat planning on driving south if I decide to go

Okay, I know I've been MIA for a while, but I did get my snowman done! Here he is:

Now for a little fun. A few years ago, when the children were much smaller, I got so tired of saying "Who did this?" and hearing "Not me!" So, I started wrapping a present for "Not Me" every year for Christmas. Last year, I let my hubby open the present, but this year the gift is actually for all three children to share. So, here's the "Not Me" present before it went into the BIG BOX:

And this is the big box that will be waiting Christmas morning!

Love the snowman Julie..great job! You are the only one that did a USA snowman..

OMG , look at the tradition you've got going..you've got so much patience...lol...adorable...

Ocean Springs, MS

Yeah, a real tradition! The kids actually expect a present for "Not Me" to be under the tree every year! They learn real fast, don't they?
Here's one of the greatest gifts I've ever gotten:

You couldn't ask for more than that Julie...adorable...a gift that keeps giving...

Better get dressed and put my woolies on, lots of snow to shovel...

Enjoy your day..
