Trina!!! Have you got plants or what!!!! More are coming?? Don't forget the little ones are going to grow up one day. If you are doing Thanksgiving dinner, I hope you have a little room to cook and you all to eat! I was going to stack my plants like you have, the little ones on the big ones. But I thought that maybe the roots need some air and maybe some mold might build up with them on the soil.

The past 2 days I have been to SIX GW's!! I was so tired tonight I didn't even bring my things inside. I got 2 more books for my son. My DIL wanted glass snack trays like I had sent her before that were given to me. You know the kind that they had years ago. She wanted 10 more and I got all they had, about 10 I think, 69 each with discount! Some days it pays to be old! Also, I got a barbeque fork 14 cents I can use in the garden. Couldn't find any for Riley in good condition. No Christmas ornaments. I was looking for a garden fairy for me to put outside but couldn't find one. A lot of people in the store today.

I sprinkled a little cinnamon over those pots to help with any mold issue that might arise. he swears the plant shelves will be done this weekend so I can unstack those. and yes I realize the plants will get larger, some MUCH larger, I just don't think he gets that or how quickly some of them will get much larger...all part of my evil plan! LOL

Cinnamon stops mold? What about mold from over watering?

Well I think it is mold but really can't tell. Could be just lime deposit from the water.

But the cinnamon won't hurt plants?

I don't think mine has senior discounts. Never seen it posted anywhere. They have a certain color tag every week that is 50% off, but usually only clothes and linens.

I think I have a big bird stocking I could put up for the poo's.

JJ, call one of your GW stores and ask if they have senior discounts on Wednesday. And ask if they have everything off in the store on Dec. 5. Just to be sure.

I double checked the GW stores in Indy and I found 2 more that aren't that far away. Hurrah!!!

Hey trina, this is a picture of my amaryllis when it was in bloom. Bloom measured 8 inches across. Never had them blossom that big before.
Actually it was my mom's and I now have 6 bulbs I believe ^_^

The only time I shop is when I need something. I am not a shopper at heart.

Kassy, boy that is amazing! Do you know where your mom got that bulb? They have amaryllis bulbs at a lot of different prices. I wonder if you pay more you get a bigger bulb.

my wal mart is selling them for $5 each right now, they have the 'Red Lion', 'Apple Blossom,' and 'Minerva'

I think they are beautiful but this will be my first time growing them, I got both some bulbs and some seeds in a trade, going to see what I get cause ya never know if ya don't try! LOL

venice, I think she got it at wal mart. Not sure. But the fact that it has set off 5 more bulbs tells you that she had it a long time. Actually 2 of the bulbs have developed since I got it.

I just think these are so neat! I hope mine grow and bloom too! I keep hinting to butthead what it is I want for christmas but either he's not getting it or he's ignoring me!

venice, they like to be crouded. So when I did transpant 2 of the bigger bulbs, they went into snall pots. They usually went dormant during the winter for my mom, and she would put them in the basement then in a cool place where they didn't get a lot of light, some but not as much as her catus that she kept in the basement got. And she would bring then back out in the spring again and they would just take off again.

I made the mistake of giving them some plant food, and they have not gone dorment in a few years now.......LOL
