When I mentioned to Red the other day that his shot reminded me of my back yard...I wasn't kidding. Here is a view from my kitchen window..."Got Blackbirds?"...!!

It is overcast and raining so really carpy shots!! Here are some Red-winged Blackbirds at the feeder.

This little female Cardinal hit a window and landed on my old ladder to recoup....I couldn't resist getting a shot of her. She stayed for quite awhile and then flew off...as fit as a fiddle!

Pelle, I loved the shading on your Tufted Titmouse. Nice job.
Angele, cute Robin. I'd say you're probably right about it being an immature. The females are also a lighter color than the male too. Love your little Roadrunner!!
Margaret, that Kookaburra is a spectacular bird. You sure are lucky to see so many beautiful birds.

Well I got my wish the Red-bellied Woodpecker is now a member of my feeder group, though it took some thinking, but I think he likes it. None of the birds would eat the suet until I jammed it into a tree crevice now its a hit. A few pictures from today.

I also took a piece of log and drilled some one inch wide holes all over it a jammed suet into the holes and hung it up, it too seems to be a hit.

Congratulations Burd on all of the birds you are attracting and the great shots...so glad the Red-bellied Woodpecker has become a regular! They are such gorgeous birds and a welcomed addition to our yard. Love your suet log...you might also want to post a shot of it on the feeders thread http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1033940/ . To answer your question about the Blackbirds...yes they are visiting the feeders but luckily they come in waves and don't stay all day!!

Wonderful photo's everyone! Oh how I wish I had even a tad of the photography skill that so many of you possess. I can literally take 200 pictures and maybe, just maybe get a couple of decent ones. Cameras and other electronics have always been hard for me to grasp, I am very technically challenged. But, I thought I would post a photo or two that I've taken the past couple of months that actually did come out okay and you can tell what the subject is!

This is from late October, a juvenile Mourning Dove that was walking around under the feeders and at times just huddled up in the grass. It let me get pretty close. I thought it was injured or perhaps had fallen from a tree and was unable to fly but it did end up fluttering up to the fence and into the shrubbery.

This was taken about three weeks ago. A Carolina Wren? at one of the feeders

Last month we were visiting some friends who live one county south of us. I was up early one morning and got this sunrise photo with the ducks on the water.

I may have posted some of these before so if I did, please forgive this old ditzy blonde! This was taken at our friends place also.

Your pictures are wonderful Plantlady. Love that little dove and the heron is beautiful. That sunset photo is gorgeous. It sounds like you and I have the same thoughts on our cameras, but I'm learning from everyone here.

You have some nice ones there plantlady! The Brown Thrasher is one of our favorite summer visitors that we so look forward to every year.
