You are too funny! I am sure you have some beautiful plants also. I just go a little overboard with mine. I see it , I like it, I buy it, most of the time knowing I do not have room to put it, but can't help myself.

Georgiagirl, did I notice that you have your yesterday, today, and tomorrow planted in your yard. Is it hardy in zone 8a, 7b?
I too have orchids, mostly phals. I have one dendrobium, but I'm puzzled by its behavior. Mine has lost all of it's leaves this summer. I almost gave up on it (put it in the garage & nearly forgot about it. Later I realized that the stems are still green. Maybe there's hope for it yet.

Deebie,
Yes, it is planted in the yard. Actually, I have two. I thought I may have lost them last year because we had an unusual winter. Our average lows are probably 30 -32, but mostly 35-40. Last year we had 3 or 4 nights of 17 & 18. I tried to keep them covered, but after that first 18, they were toast, but they survived and are blooming. I don't know enough about them to know if this is a normal blooming period for them, or because they got zapped by the cold, and had to grow back are blooming later. It is up against our garage on the west side. I have tried to take numerous cuttings, but so far have had no luck with them rooting, may try airlayering now.

Sometimes my den. lose their leaves also, but they will come back with new growth.

In zone 8, Y,t,ts will pop seeds that come up all around them.

I chickened out and keep mine in the garage where it went dormant. It had a seedpod on it but I had to bring it in because of a freeze. I didn't put it in the house--no more room. It's starting to put out new leaves and I think the seedpod is growing again. I hope the seeds are viable when they mature. I will plant it in the ground this spring. I understand that they wake up later this way.
