Dorthea Blooming in the Greenhouse

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Hey,Ladies, if you do a google search on Maggi's Garden Magic, you will find their e-bay store(nothing up for sale at the moment, tho).I put Ken, in my favorite sellers, so I will know when they do put plants up.
Ken, your brug is very pretty.Looks like a "blushing dewdrop" to me..or maybe a fragrant flo.. lol Wish I could smell it!

Do any of you grow Iochroma grandiflorum? I think I need one..lol..I love the blue/purple color. I wonder how long they take from seed to bloom??
Dee

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

You got rain yet? Dee.
We have 1 1/2inch so far.
Good Morning.
Is it a plant or a shrub?
Charleen

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

I guess that it is considered a shrub...has blooms that look something like mini brugs..says that its great for a large pot.
Dee

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Ooops, forgot...no rain yet..it's sunny here.
Dee

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Hey, Charleen, do you have room for any more brug cuttings now, or would you rather wait til Spring? It would be a couple weeks, before I could ship.
Dee

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

I can make room. Now isn't that awful. I still got one more batch to pot up.
I guess I'll use my cooking beer for the plants. ^_^ I make a beer batter for onion rings and I use small cans of beer.
Good for Zuchinni too.
Charleen

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

No, that not awful. I make for for everyone that I can get my hands on too..lolI still have some to pot up too.I am gonna have to make a run to home depot this evening. I think I have aphids.I can't see anything moving, but I can see tiny orange dots on the back of some of the leaves.
I would probably have to take a swig of that beer, while I was mixing..lol...I haven't had a beer in years, but I used to be a Miller's Lite girl...lol
Dee

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

DEE, Guess what I am doing? It ain't digging in the dirt. It's vacuuming and mopped the Kitchen floor.
Yuk!!!But it is raining and I don't get in a cleaning mood very often. Lord knows I need too.
smells so fresh. Dogs hate it!!! They run from room to room. i'm fixing chili for supper so I'm o.k.
You be careful running into town.
Charleen

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

You're cleaning and I'm doing laundry...yuck...lol
Well...maybe I won't run to town...better ride..haha..Altho the run would do me good.We are getting ready to leave for my daughters house.I'll probably be a little later getting on tonight.Talk later..bye

have you ever made pork roast & dumplings, it's a lot tastier than chicken & dumplings, thats what I made for this evenings dinner, I made the roast last night in the crock pot, so today I just had to make the dumplings, it's all done

Elizabeth, I love that bracelet you got on.
The clivia are beautiful and of coarse , you know I love that
Brug.
Is the bracelet comfortable? It looks good.
I love to see you ladies wear my bracelets.
I gave one away the day I got my brugs. I do that
The little lady loved it.
i got a pork roast I am going to try that with the dumplings.
Sounds good.

Charlene
I told you I would wear it, it's very comfortable, thank you, I love it, I was hoping that dorthea would be dark pink, but maybe it's the time of year, wheather they're dark or light, this summer it was darker, oh it does have a scent in the GH
I thought you might like the clivia's also

Elizabeth

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Yes, I love them both. Mine is just sitting here looking so green and Happy.
Elizabeth< I put these last Brugs in potting soil with cinnamon. The little brugs do not look bad. Should I keep them in the dark?? like the other ones? I have them here behind my desk. the little brug is standing tall like a little soldier. I think It may make it. I'm holding my breathe.
I just spray them with my mister and they are looking good. Not the soil, just the plants.

Charlene
with clippings it's better if they have some light, I will take a pic of my clipping in an 85 gal. fish tank under lights in the basement, I think you little one will be fine, it's so exciting to watch those little fellows grow big

Charlene
when you put your brugs out in the spring, they grow so fast, it's nothing to see a 4 inch pot, grow to 7-8ft in one season
you'll be amazed at how fast they do grow

jee girls you chatted a lot. I don't have time to read it all. Ryan (my son) gets better. Tomorrow he goes to school. Wednesday they only have to go in the morning.

I read something about iochroma. I have iochroma australis, It bloomed a lot this year. But I don't thing I can take cuttings of it yet. Maybe in springtime (that is the best time for it here).

I read everything else tomorrow.

Hamilton, OH

Jori
Hi, I have a couple of the Iochroma's, I haven't had any luck getting them too root, Girl I am sooo glad your son is better
it's awful, when the little one's don't feel well, I think spring is the time to take cutting, I had a really nice one that didn't make it

Elizabeth

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Ryan, such a nice name. We are so happy he is feeling better.
Dee wanted the iochroma and I haven't looked it up to see what it is yet.
The leaves are all turning colors and look so pretty. It is raining and feels and looks like fall.
It is a beautiful day considering.

Charleen

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Darn, looks like I missed the gab session this afternoon..
Dee

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

What gab session?

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Hi Ken, oh just the girls gabbing about their plants and such.
Dee

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

We can start another one this afternoon.
Can't we?
Charleen

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

hey, Ken do you grow any Iochroma? Just wondering if you have any tips on rooting them.
Dee

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Sure we can Charleen...i just thought you and Elizabeth were busy with other things this evening..Glad your here to gab
Dee

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

With the rain, I've been popping in and out all day.
Wonder if It would hurt if I used 16 oz. of beer instead of
12 oz. I've got Bud light. Is that o.k.?
Charleen

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

They are not easy to root. They are easy to grow but sometimes grow so much they forget to bloom. I have had a few of them but don't have the won't give them another try until I get a better setup.

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

Light beer does not have as much carbs.

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

LOL

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

Plants need carbs, it's food.

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

I gota get pure beer!

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

Any beer will do for now, just get regular next time. The most important thing is getting it mixed up and start spraying. Those little plants are hungry.

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

I'm sorry I laughed but my husband and I are both diabetics and are contantly counting carbs...just never thought I would be doing it for my plants, but I do want the best for them!
