Great Tish!!

Connie,
There is a huge nursery near me and the AVs always look pathetic, although most of their stuff is beautiful.

Lin,
Welcome back ^_^ !!

Hurray Tish! I hope the plants/leaves are okay. Pat M.

(Zone 1)

Connie, that is so sweet of you to offer leaves. Nichole also offered me leaves/plants not long ago for the trailer experiment, but I declined. I am STILL trying to decide if I want to drag in the shelves and hook up lights again, LOL. I am so bad ... getting old and lazier, and my attention span seems to get worse each year too. I really, really should get rid of a few plants, it's almost like having a full time job anymore! I've been saying for some time that I'm going to downsize and try to concentrate on just one or two different kinds of plants ... much easier said than done!

Hi Lynn! Thanks for the welcome back ... I've been lurking a bit, just not posting very much since I'm not growing AV's right now. I still love, love, love seeing everyone's beautiful photo's!

OK...new tracking number: On its way, this afternoon, Dec 2

Well, the plants were not as bad as I thought they might be. A few were gonners and others were sad but might perk up. So I guess my box was about the same as everyone else has described, some good plants, some past. I did not look at streps that were wrapped up (as I didn't want to kill any more streps- let someone else enjoy them). But I can't grow orchids either and I did take a cutting of a very pretty something...(I forgot to write down the name! I've put in those hydro clay pellets and will have a go at that...I bought them from an orchid supply store online a while back, for an av club experiment...failure experiment for violets, but some of my houseplants are happy campers). Ha. I took some vine cuttings, velvet, noid "not ivy", ha, Brazilian, kit kat begonia ( I just found out about the little begonias and how pretty begonia leaves are - this summer, oh no another shelf please!), purple passion cutting, that not a begonia watermellon begonia (- its leaves are very pretty), yellow cactus, streptocarpella. Leaves - a couple that might make it, ones a russian, too tired to go look - long day. If they root, I'll post later to say their names. Plants, Rob's Toorooka, Ness Crinkle.

And, I put a lot back in. It felt like I was taking a lot out, but when I put the extra back into the box, it almost filled it back up before i even added my pile of cuttings! I hope there are some things in there the next box recipents don't already have..its so hard to choose what to add to the box. So the box is FULL! Its fun that its coming in December, cause its just like Christmas! The last person is going to have a lot of this and that to get started....will take a while to get it all put down to root!

Thanks everyone for a great round robin... and all the neat plants I didn't already have that I now get to add to my collection.

Glad it finally was located! Sounds like you got some great stuff. I sure hope the weather doesn't get any worse.

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

stownes - keep an eye out for it . . . will be chilly here for the next few days!

Mansfield, TX(Zone 8a)

I'll be home so can watch for it. Sounds like the weather is gonna get bad here tomorrow night.

It's here!!! Thank goodness I was in the living room and heard a noise and went to look because they didn't ring the doorbell. Haven't had a chance to open it yet, but will try to post more this evening (16 month old grandson is going to be here so who knows). I'm not going to try to send it out tomorrow because of the weather. I'm off to get some little bitty cups so anyone who needs it can have a sip of superthrive :-)

I'm finally back. My husband just took our grandson, William, on an outing. Almost everything in the box was in good shape - just a couple of tiny little Streps don't look very good. I feel like such a pig taking so much, but there's still a lot left. Here's what I kept:
Trail along - 1
Bogina Krasoty - 2
Strep Happy Trail - 1
Strep Lost in Space - 1
Purple Pasion
Sinn Pink Kitten
NOID - 1
Dean's Bashful - 1
Chirita Sunburst - 1
Streptocarpella Concord Blue - 2
AV Heart's aglow - 2
Chirita Vertigo - 1
Chirita Mineko - 1
Sinn Peachy Propeller
Chirita Destiny - 1
Yellow christmas Cactus - 2
Scheideana - 1
Pet. Barbata - 2
Cuban Oregano - 2
Surprise Party - 2

I'm going to be potting all afternoon :-) It's a good thing we're almost through because our poor box can't make many more trips!
