Very pretty, Nichole! If someone out there has FC2, could you please post a pic of Strawberry Crush for me? I can't find it by googling. Thanks!

Hi Connie;

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

No, it's not on the list. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist, though . . . could just be not registered. Hawaiian Trail isn't registered, either.

Monticello, MN

There is a strep called Strawberry Crush , just thought maybe that is what Connie is referring to

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Connie - if it is a strep that you're looking for, check out this link: http://www.streptocarpus-info.com/tables.html

Northeast, MO(Zone 5b)

It is supposed to be an a.v.. I did see the strep when I was searching on google. I will go back and check my e-mail to make sure I didn't miss something. Thanks!

Northeast, MO(Zone 5b)

Well, as luck would have it, I was wrong and it is a strep. I don't know why I thought it was an A.V. I do love streps and I am trying to build up on those too. I hope it is as pretty as the pic I saw. So sorry and I thank you all for looking!

Connie

Oh, yeah...If I can grow it out this winter you all know where you can find leaves of a strep named Strawberry Crush this spring :)

Northeast, MO(Zone 5b)

Oh, MY!! Did you see the one below the pic of Strawberry Crush? Strawberry Jam? It is BEAUTIFUL!!! Looks like S. Crush will be a winner too :)

Edited to remove what I said earlier...

I'll replace it with it sounds like everyone is having so much fun! :o)

I have a Ness' Sheer Peach, and its blooms are beautiful!

There has been a slight change on the Round Robin. Jim will be unable to receive a box during the 'window' that the box will be sent back to him. As a result, RainGazer is packing up a huge box to send to Jim now, so that he will not miss out. So, once the box reaches RainGazer, the Robin will be complete! There are only 6 stops left!

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

For some unknown reason I always have a problem with Ness' Sheer Peach. If I get a leaf...it rots. If I get a plant, it just rolls over and dies. So I will try again. LOL!

Atco, NJ

Hi Melanie,

Those Ness' Sheer Peach leaves came from a very strong and fast growing plant. It blooms beautifully with lots and lots of flowers. I hope you enjoy it.

Pat

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

I guessed that they were from you. You have such a pretty handwritting. I think that I got several of yours, which I'm thrilled to have.

Atco, NJ

I hope they all do well for you. Have the leaves I sent you before rooted for you?

Just wanted to tell you that I'm sharing this "beautiful weather" you're having right now. We arrived at Hatteras Island this morning in our motor home. We picked a great week to vacation here didn't we? I'm sitting here watching the water on Pamlico Sound. It's about 10 feet away from our motor home. Even though it's a dreary, rainy day, the wildlife right here is amazing.

Mansfield, TX(Zone 8a)

Looks like you got some really great stuff.

Thank goodness we're having nice weather here.

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

Pat...pack up and go home!! They're beginning to sand bag low areas in Raleigh. It's terrible. I've never seen so much water here!! THe weatherman said that this is going to turn into a Noreaster (sp?). We are expecting to get another four inches tomorrow. Wind gusts of 39mph, so trees are beginning to come down. Stay safe!!

Atco, NJ

We have already been given the evacuation route we should take in case Pamlico Sound rises too much. We were told that if the wind stays NE the ocean side floods. If the wind shifts to SW then the sound floods. Route 12 coming down through the Outer Banks is already flooded in some areas. Route 12 is the only road out of here. They are predicting high winds with gusts up to 50 mph. This is a trip we won't soon forget.

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

Now I have two of you to worry about!! My daughter lives on the mainland, sound side. Just stay safe!!

Atco, NJ

Hi Bonnie,

Just checking in so you don't have to worry. We had the heavy rain and high winds but not the flooding on the Pamlico Sound side of Hatteras. It was a rather sleepless night as you can imagine. There is water laying everywhere, rain that has nowhere to go. I'll check in again later. I'm sure we'll be fine. We just have to wait it out.

Thanks for thinking about us.

Pat

Atco, NJ

Hi Bonnie,

I'm sure you've been watching the news and already know that the worst of this storm has passed us. We can't head home yet because we would drive right back into the storm. They don't want high profile vehicles like our motor home on the roads yet. Too many bridges to cross in these winds. We'll just wait it out here and leave on Sunday. I hope you and your family are doing well through all of this. It's certainly been a nasty storm.

Have a safe night!

Pat

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

I was certainly worried. They showed some of the beach houses sliding into the ocean, the roads underwater.

Melanie

Ottawa, IL(Zone 9a)

wow, thats scary, glad you are safe, take your time getting home.be safe.

We just watched the morning news. It looks like Route 12 is covered by a couple of feet of water. There is so much damage all throughout the Outter Banks. We can't go anywhere until the water recedes.

At least we have everything we need with us. It seems that nearly everything on the Outter Banks is closed up. Thank goodness we were well stocked when we left New Jersey. My husband always complains that I pack too much. I bet he never does that again.

I'll keep in touch. Thanks again for thinking of us.

Pat

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

Pat keep checking in...please. I knew that 12 was going to be a problem. It always is. You just take care and don't let the wind blow you away. Also when you leave..if you have to go through Hampton, they are underwater too, but I guess that you have seen that on TV. As far as I know the count is now 3 houses into the ocean. Don't you just love your trip to NC?

Atco, NJ

When we are able to leave, we'll take the Bay Bridge Tunnel, then Route 13. We plan to take the ferry from Lewes, DE to Cape May, NJ. That puts us less than an hour and a half from home. Although this storm is already raising cane back in Jersey. They are already experiencing flood tides and high winds. There are 21 foot waves off our coast. So the ferry may not be an option.

Right now the wind has shifted and the water is up over the bulkhead. We will be moving to higher ground.

Melanie, this trip certainly isn't what we were expecting. But we're making the best of it. It will surely be one we'll remember well.

Pat

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

I'll be thinking of you.Stay safe and keep in touch.

I have to appoligize to the people after me in this RR. We got a phone call late Saturday, Nov 7 that my 14yr old nephew John Thomas Ench was hit by a car on RT 18 in Old Bridge NJ, and didn't survive. We packed up the car (my hubby won't fly) and headed to NJ. I thought he had put my laptop in the car, and didn't realize I didn't have it when I went to let you know to skip me and add me later.
We just arrived home, after driving thru a bad storm. We had driving rain and wind from the Jersey turnpike thru to the middle of S.C. It was terrible driving. It usually takes us 18 hours, but this time it took 27 hours. We had to keep pulling off and waiting for some of the wind and rain to subside.
I'm on my way to post office to pick up the box. I will go thru it today and send it off to Stovall garden tomorrow morning. I will post later what I took, and hopfully everything is still OK in the box.
I'm sorry again, but plants was the last thing in our minds.
At the wake, there must have been over a thousand people giving comfort to Mary Ellen, John, and John's brother Matthew, 9yrs old. The funeral procession from church to cemetary was over two miles long. We have never seen anything like it before.

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Oh, Eileen - I'm so sorry for your loss! Don't worry about the box, it was only mailed on Tuesday. Family is more important! As tragic as the accident was . . . it is good to know that such a young man could make such an impact on so many people.

Atco, NJ

Eileen, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. There just are no words that ever seem right at a time like this. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Pat

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

Oh Elieen....I'm so sorry. Know that you and your family are in my heart and prayers.

Melanie

Ottawa, IL(Zone 9a)

oh, my thoughts & prayers are with you & your family.take real good care.
