I am enjoying it too. Have already asked for a few seeds. I'm not going to ask for a lot
as I have already got several from Lazlo, and other people.

I can't belive it grew. How much fun can you get from a seed??
Charleen

Hamilton, OH

Charlene
I am sooo happy for you, now you're really addicted, that's how it starts, now you will have a yard full of Brugs, & all the seedlings, taking up room everywhere, they are in the GH in the basement & every window of my house that I could get them to fit, but I am loving it, Jori's Box went out today, yipee, it didn't cost as much as I thought it would

Elizabeth

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

I know your glad to get it done. I hope my plants live for her.
What color was those four O'clock seed you sent?
My little brug is growing, I didn't think it would grow so fast
Charleen.

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

All this talk about Charleen's seedling, made me want to grow some from seed, so I started my brug seeds today. Can hardly wait to see if they are gonna pop.
Dee

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Charleen, how long after you sowed your seeds, did it germinate?
Dee

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Did you use a 2 litr botl.? cut in half. that is what I did, I have an upright freezer that I set it on for bottom heat,Dee. It liked it well enough to grow. Nothing from the others yet, but I'm watching.I got the top off now.I'm going to wait til I see roots to transplant.
I gave it a friend to keep it company, Elizabeth. Went to Wal-green got me a card. They were on sale. How Lucky..

About two weeks, I think, Dee.
How do you like it's little friend?
Charleen

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

What a cute little critter..Looks like he is standing guard!
I started mine in a applebees take out container..lol.It has a snap on lid, and is just about the right depth.I put small holes in the bottom for drainage.I usually use the mini greenhouses, but mine are all about worn out. I need to get some new ones, but will have to wait til after Christmas.I have the container setting on a heating pad set on low.
Dee

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

This didn't have a drainage hole. Just peatmoss. I finally pulled the little seedthingie off this morning.
Wonder how log before it starts getting thicker?
Charleen

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

I have no idea, Charleen. I have never grown brugs, from seed.We need Elizabeth to answer that one!
Dee

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Where is she at? If it's not me, it's Elizabeth. We have a terrible time staying together don't we?
She is getting ready for he trip. I don't blame her either.

Charlene
good morning, I went to be early last night, the four o'clocks are red
good morning dee
once you start with Brug seeds, you'll have them every where, it can be a few months to a year for them to get big, I had one Brug that grew from a 3 inch pot to 7ft in one year, that's one that I gave away, I didn't have room for it, it will be neat, Charlene when you see how fast they do grow, I like your critter also
Elizabeth

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Elizabeth, I am so glad to see you. My baby has it two little leaves and looking so green.
It willbe a tree in the Spring, won't it? I believe it will be that tall that fast just watching it.
I felt like it should have some company. I found it somewhere.
Want to get my M.O. this week for BGI.
Charleen

Kerkdriel, Netherlands

Charleen sometimes you speak a very strange language. haha. M.O???? BGI???? I don't know what that is.

Red four o-clocks? I never seen those before. I have white, pink and yellows and mixed ones but no reds.
I also have mirabilis longiflora sinds last year, but they haven't flowered yet. I am trying to hold them over for next year.
Charleen, your seedling will grow very fast!

What is the piggy swap?

Yesterday evening I had a meeting of my orangery club. It was nice. But it ended really late. Past my bedtime! haha.

Hamilton, OH

Charlene
it's good to see you too, those babies do grow fast, I will be glad too see you over at BGI also, I sent a money order to renew mine I just hope it got there today, mine runs out tonight, if not I won't be able to post over there, you will be amazed by the seedlings, I got a small plant Elizabeth at the beginning of spring, it grew to over 6ft from a 8-9 inch plant, in just one season, so next spring I can just see your yard full of Brugs & Blooms

Elizabeth

Hamilton, OH

Jori
Hi, if I had known, I could have put you some in your box, I still have a bunch
Elizabeth

Kerkdriel, Netherlands

Too bad. Maybe you can save me some seeds for later.

Hamilton, OH

Jori
as soon as you get your box let me know, then I can send you some seeds in a buble envelope, I don't think you have to fill out the form for seeds

Elizabeth

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Jori
M.O. Money Order
BGI Brugmansia Growers International
You will have to go over to Seed swaps and see if there is an opening for International Piggy Swap.
We list a bunch of seed and trade them. Very interesting. You are new --go see if you can get in.
Get al kinds of seeds. But we can get you seeds without going thru all that.
Got to run, have to go get my DH. at work.
Jori, my brug seed is now a baby. It is so cute. That is it up there with monkeypet.
later you all.
Charleen

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Yes, you do.
Charleen

Kerkdriel, Netherlands

I don't need them immediatly. Can't sow them before March so wait a little longer please.
Do you have the longiflora? I'll sends some seeds of these with. I thing I have a few left somewhere.

Hamilton, OH

Jori

When you google it you find much more beautifull pictures.

Hamilton, OH

Jori
that's very nice, if you have extra's I'll take some, & I will send you the red one's, thank you
Elizabeth

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Yes, they were beautiful. Elizabeth aare you ready for your trip?
I have to turn my baby around he is nodding toward the window. really
it just tipped toward the window. I'll have to turn it again.
When should I transplant it??
Charleen

Hamilton, OH

Charlene
I would leave it alone if it's doing good, I would transplant it when the roots are growing out of the bottom, then I would just take it up one size at a time, you have it in a soda bottle don't you?, I have a few that are still in the same pot since the summer, one rule I follow the bigger the pot, the bigger the plant, but the seedlings, I make sure the stem is the size of a pencil before, I transplant them to a bigger size pot

Elizabeth

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

I'll leave it, but my bottle has no holes in the bottom. I'll just spritz it.
peat moss stays damp quite a while. So it is probably o.k. I sure do like it.
Charleen

Hamilton, OH

Charlene
I am proud of you, it's your little baby, I know it is going to well for you, I got so excited when some of my Brug seed came up, now some of them are ready for new pots, it will be next spring before I get to see them bloom, I have a bunch of seed, but I am not going to do anything till feb. then I'll soak peel, then put them in the mini GH, if they all come up I will have a mini forrest
Elizabeth

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

I was amazed at it. I think I did my greenhouses backwards but they worked. It is no neat.
I need to go take a picture of the white brug. It is really getting pretty. I'll do that.
Charleen

Hamilton, OH

Charlene
I bet it's beautiful, I have a double enchanted white, that didn't bloom, I had it under some bigger one's, I think it was too shaded, now it's about 2ft tall

Elizabeth

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Here it is. Perky, isn't it???? It is pretty. Actually, this is first one I ever had and never paid it any attention. Poor thing.
But after I found out, I sure do respect it more than I did. It alsways waited til nearly frost for it to bloom. So it has done good
this year. Strutting it's stuff.
