Hoya nummularioides

Very fragrant and so many blooms on one plant

Beautiful photo of that bloom Joni, mine hasn't bloomed in awhile, sure wish I could smell that fragrance, I remember it being heavenly!

Nothing new blooming here, same old DS-70 and brevialata so I won't bother with pictures. My EA australis has the teeniest buds, can't wait for them to open.

Wow, can you believe it's November already?!

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Hey everyone...did you know that Joni is selling hoyas at the big Saturday Market in FLA?!!!! You floridians can run over there and meet her...you lucky ducks!!!

(Zone 1)

I wish she were selling at a Saturday Market on this side of the state! ^_^

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Florida isn't that wide....can't you go for a picnic?

(Zone 1)

It's about a 3 1/2 hour drive from here.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

I am really sorry this is difficult to see, the white blobs are full umbels of H. magnifica blooming in the Mountain Apple tree. Every umbel opened at the same time!!!

H. chlorantha var. tutuliensis...

Oh Carol ... I just want to sit under that Mountain Apple tree of yours! That is a glorious photo, I bet the fragrance in your garden is intoxicating!

H. chlorantha var. tutuliensis sure has a pretty bloom ... another Hoya that I've not heard of before.

Waterville, VT(Zone 4b)

Beautiful flowers Carol. That magnifica is to die for!

I can actually smell the H. magnifica on the back porch about 50 yards away from the tree!!! It really took off like a scalded cat when I put it outdoors. I am finding that being outdoors in the elements the plant can take conditions that would otherwise kill it in the Greenhouse...like lots of water!!!!

Love the H magnifica photo, Carol. I got 4 umbrels out at the same time..the first one is just fading now and the scent was fab.........Had never flowered it before, but it certainly puts on a show when it does. Ive had a few tries at H chlorantha....pretty flowers....just cant seem to get the little devil going

As curious as it may seem with the thinish leaves...don't drown it...it seems to like drier more than wetter, but then, we have lots of ambient humidity...

Mountlake Terrace, WA(Zone 8a)

Nice plants all. Smelling your magnifica 50 yards away in November. Disgusting. Down right disgusting.

Chesapeake, VA(Zone 7b)

H. iris marie... thanks Carol!

Pubicalyx seems to be flowering most of the time. H. golamcoina "Los Banos" has a line up of 5 - 6 peduncles which should bloom within the next week or two.

Very pretty Tropic!

Congrats Doug on making Bloom of the Day for tomorrow! It is a great bloom photo!

An absolutely stunning picture Doug, I agree. Congratulations!

Thanks Christine and Lin! I'm very surprised and happy about it. I guess it was worth the little bit of effort it took to lie down on the floor underneath the plant to take the shot. I thought that blooms of the day were generally close ups of single blooms so I'm very surprised the photo was considered.

This is of leaves!!! The plant is H. chuniana...beautiful flowers ... but look at the leaves... The small ones are from when it was in the greenhouse. The big ones are since it is hanging outside....

One of my favorites...H. pottsii...blooming for the second time this year. According to a hoya grower in Ga. this hoya is a 'dog' because it never blooms. Hello" It is not Hawaii...it is growing it properly which is not rocket science.

This bloom is from the H. coriacea I stuck in a tree. I have three blooms staring me in the face.... The umbel is probably 5" in diameter...

Wow, love those H. pottsii leaves. Which pottsii is it?

Mountlake Terrace, WA(Zone 8a)

And don't forget to vote for the Photo Entries, The Indoor plants and succulents had several Hoya pictures, and one I voted top dollar on.

Waterville, VT(Zone 4b)

Nice blooms Carol. H. coriacea is the second most impressive Hoya that I personally have bloomed. It has to be seen in person to really appreciate how incredible the bloom really is. Analog Dog is correct that there are a few Hoya blooms in the Tropical Plant/ House plant portion of the photo contest. It would be really cool if a Hoya was selected as the winner. The competition is really rough though, so the chance of winning is probably pretty small, but vote anyway.

Hoya calycina- so fragrant! Blooms are about 1" across.

Hoya albiflora- also very fragrant, similar to calycina but not as intense, more subtle. Blooms are bout 3" across when pressed flat, a little over 2" when measured in their natural shape.

Lovely Mark,
Do these always flower together at the same time?

Thought Id just run this photo alongside yours Mark of my, what I have as H magnifica, which is just finishing flowering, to show a comparable . Photo is similar composition and Ive cropped it accordingly as per yours. There are differences in the flowers which are much more apparant comparing the photos
