What's for dinner?

Thomaston, CT

We go to Chilis a few times a year because it's near my DH's doctor's office, & we're usually there at lunchtime---guess who makes the appts.? It's also close to Bertucci's which I really love.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

pot roast today

Triad(for a few more, NC(Zone 7a)

My sister loves Bertucci's I didn't think they were that good?

Today I made the mac & cheese and three loaves of bread.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Celeste I hope you're freezing a lot of that food, for the times you don't feel like cooking.

Today was my son's b-day party, we had veggie pizza, chili, stromboli and the usual fruit platter, chips and salsa

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Victor I use fresh shallots in place of onion a lot... onions can put a hurting on me.. don't need the details.. they are mild but still yummy

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Allison. I'll try them fresh. Onions bother my stomach.

Thomaston, CT

Women's Fellowship---pizza for all of us!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Ham steak, mac and cheese, mixed veggies, fench fries, hubby had perogies. A real kiddie food kind of night.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Had turkey sausage with garlic, onions, fresh parsley in chicken broth, with white rice, salad and corn.

North Augusta, ON

Victor...onions bother me too and I've found that a very good substitute is Leeks. Nice oniony taste without the pain. Even good minced up in a tuna salad sandwich.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, LA. Next time I'll take a leek.

North Augusta, ON

LOL!!!

Pork Chops, white rice, small red beans in a tomato base sauce on the side with chunks of pumpkin; garden salad. Cranberry/ Almond pound cake with vanilla Ice cream for dessert.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Man - you always have to throw those yummy desserts in, WC!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

It tops off the meal, sort of like 'icing on the cake'. (lol)

Thomaston, CT

Tuna mac salad, deviled eggs, and baked apples for dessert.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Just leftovers here tonight.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Pork, acorn squash and sweet potatoes. Individual apple tarts, too. The odors while cooking was tantalizing.

The weekend is coming, that is when I cook most. Going to school M-Th nights means no dinner most nights. Fortunately I have a very understanding husband. I think Beef stew is on the menu for the weekend, something I can make and eat for a couple days cause Monday night we leave to go to Massachusetts to spend Thanksgiving with family and....to visit a HOLLY FARM, YAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Yaaaaay! What are you studying Susan? I'm thinking about going back to school too.

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

Thats a grueling schedule Susan. I am in school too but try to schedule my classes with a day off in between. At my age I need a day to figure out what they were talking about :-)

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

LOL, Jada. I'd certainly be in trouble then, cuz I'd need a week. :)

Way to go, Susan.

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

LOL Jan , sometimes it takes longer than that! Sometimes I dont get it at all. :-0

Thomaston, CT

LOL...I've been cooking & baking all week for our church supper & bazaar, so we ate out for lunch today---having a crown put in this pm, so something soft tonight.

Triad(for a few more, NC(Zone 7a)

I am getting a 2 year degree in Horticulture. I go to classes Mon- Thur night from 4-8 pm. They are making a 2 year program a year and a half to let people get through it quicker. It is grueling but fun. I am also 40 minutes drive one way from the school so come Winter I am not looking forward to the drive should bad weather move in while we are in class. :(

We will be moving back to my home state of MA in July when I am finished with the program and I am opening a greenhouse/nursery garden center there. The degree will be very handy.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Chicken and squash tonight. Not sure yet how I'll prepare them and what green veggie I will serve with it.

Susan that's great!!!! I want to go get my master gardener's certificate next year. Then I think I want to take botanical illustration classes. So what state are you in now?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Spaghetti with Rachel Ray's ceci sauce. Yum!

Triad(for a few more, NC(Zone 7a)

We are in NC.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Oh, wow. That's far.

Thomaston, CT

Our church's bazaar supper tonight---baked ham, baked beans, coleslaw, glazed carrots, & 3 kinds of cake. I'm in charge of tomorrow's luncheon---sandwiches, brownies, soup, & drinks. I'm kind of tired right now, but will be exhausted tomorrow!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Probably pizza.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

flank steak, asparagus, mushrooms, and maybe home fries.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

too pooped to cook.. ordering Chinese

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i love Chinese - i hate the short term 7 pounds of msg weight gain - can not be good.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

We had sandwiches tonight. I had a leak someplace in the kitchen, couldn't figure it out, water kept coming out from under the sink area, so I didn't want to dirty many pans or dishes. Turned out it was a hose on the dishwasher. It actually melted some due to the dishwasher water heat (wouldn't you think it would be made to withstand that?). So it's fixed, dishes are currently washing from the night before. All's good.
