Thanks RRM, Becky and Debra.
Becky I'll be watching to see what this one does next.
Nice blooms Debra. Small is fine, nice to be getting any blooms right now.

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Debra - You are really doing great to have so many blooms considering the temps there! Looks like your vines are rocking inside and outside! :-) Keep posting your beauties!

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Blooms are great , as usual.
My moonvine is growing. Should I be fertilizing her?
This is first time and I am enjoying it. i can sit here and watch it grow and it is!

This one open this morning....Becky, just noticed rust starting on my new vines!

Thumbnail by gardenpom
(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

have you guys tried spraying with milk? it has worked for me on rust and mold outside.. I just put a quarter cup in the sprayer..

great blooms again everyone :-)... lovely higes Jackie... especially the one Becky pointed out.. really wild colours...

thanks for the tip about the rust Debra.... do you have any tips for whitefly ?

Becky... i believe mine are the same but i think you got yours from a US ebayer... i got mine from a Thai ebayer... i have mine growing in a 5 inch pot... i got really big so i cut it back to bring it in and it had grown what i thought where going to be flowerbuds... however it had rooted through its pot into the pot i had it sat in and so it wilted a bit when i brought it in and the flowerbuds have dried off :-(
the leaves do look a bit like helenah's ocracea don't they?

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

my Ochracea is still alive..

i just found it in the jungle... leaves, no buds or flowers..

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Great Debra. Take it to the basement g house. Will probably leaf
back out and set some buds. The blooms are a lovely yellow
and the dark eye is extra nice
Thanks Colin.

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Colin - That's very interesting that you got yours from Thailand instead of China. I wonder if they really are the same Yellow Chinese Evening Glory vine as mine? I guess we will know more if mine ever blooms! What were the temps like when yours was producing buds? I wonder if it is some other wild form of Ochracea?

Debra - That is great news! Has your Ochracea ever bloomed for you yet? I hope it does so now! I wanna see photos!

Jackie - The Ochracea sounds like a really pretty bloom! Are the blooms small or larger?

I played hookie today from work. My dh and I don't have the same days off anymore. :-( I wanted to do the livestock panel arch in our backyard, so I stayed home to do that today! :-) It looks great! When I unraveled and pulled the Lavender Lady Passiflora vine off my other white arch, I could not believe how many vines there were and how long they were. It was blooming like crazy, too! And I found about 6 more caterpillars on it that went into the cage. Saving all the butterflies that I can! :-) I will get a photo of it sometime this week and post it.

It rained last night and I woke up to blooms on almost every single MG vine I had. Is it something about the acid? I can't believe that Silver Shadows bloomed. It hasn't bloomed in a month. It is just about dead and I've collected seeds. But today it had one bloom! LOL! Must be the rain water. :-) Here is a photo of an odd looking Diluted Fuji no Muraski bloom. Kinda pretty!

I didn't take photos of most of the blooms. The vines looked so bad with all the rust fungus all over the leaves. But I managed a couple more photos worth posting. Here is Mauve Splash. I wonder if the excess BB fertlizer causes these mutant bloom patterns?

And the last photo is of Blue/Purple Flaked Shibori (I. purpurea). Still showing those neat white flakes on the blooms! Love it! I stopped tagging them. Seems every time I tag them with masking tape, the bud falls off the vine. So ... hopefully some will make it! ;-

Becky , I love that first photo.. it is fantastic... I am sending you some tags for your vines.. I get them from work.. they are really neat.. small, writable and stay on without choking.. we use them for key rings at work.

More lovely blooms Becky.
My ochracea was about a 3 and 1/2 in bloom, a nice size.

Melbourne, FL

Debra, do you mix the milk with water to spray for rust?

i think i got my seeds from the same place the US ebayer got theirs Becky....

does anyone have a picture of Ipomoea ochracea seeds?

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Yes, mix the milk in with your regualr spray solution in a sprayer..

Gautier, MS

Pretty blooms Jackie, Debra, Teresa and Becky.

My ochracea vine was affected by the cold and I almost lost it but I got the seeds from Cat in Texas so I'm pretty sure that it's the right one. I also kept my seeds stored in the refrig butter compartment so they'll last longer. I keep a lot of salvia seeds that way too.

I don't remember the last time I sprayed something, so I don't have a regular solution. Would just using milk and water be sufficient to help stop the rust?

Melbourne, FL

This one looks like a real beauty, but it failed to open.

Gardenpom, yes u can use the milk and water only.. you will be surprised.. that unfurled bud looked like it was going to be a real show stopper..
I found this little Akatsu No Mai volunteer in the coleus container i brought in.. lookie LOL ( it is to the left in the picture of coleus I grew from seed

Thanks, Debra. I think that large bud may be open tomorrow.....if it is it will be a huge flower!

I have spent flowers everywhere down in the basement greenhouse and in the pink bedroom, and lots of new leaf growth and little buds going too..
this grouping I started outside was from seeds from Bluespiral

Colin - I wonder where the eBay seller originally got her seeds? Mine has turned into a wonderful vine that rivals the I. indica vine. I just wish it would bloom. I know the blooms are supposed to be small yellow blooms. They call it the Evening glory. I wonder if it is a night bloomer?

Helena - I got seeds from Cat, too. Unfortunately, none of my seeds (and I have tried germinating quite a few of them ... from others, too) never germinated for me.

Gardenpom - I can't wait to see the bloom! :-)

Debra - Interesting idea about using Milk to fight off rust fungus. I might try it. What have I got to lose? LOL! Your plants all look wonderful! Your green thumb is working overtime! :-)

Not many blooms today worth photographing except these two. This is an unusual bloom on the Mauve Splash.

Love the pink bloom Debra, great color.

Becky, Mauve splash is a beauty and gives you all those different looks. I love it.

The Indica is really a gorgeous shade of blue

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Jackie - Thanks! I will have seeds of Mauve Splash to share, thanks to Helena for sharing that vine(seeds) with me! I'm off to bed ...
