A Goldfinch and a male House Finch (I think) sharing the bird bath.
DAILY PICS VOL. 253
Nice bushtit, tigerlily,
bluebird Dave, and crows and jays
and everypicture is fun.
MtnGirl, no particular kind of suet,
(they do like suet, and sometimes peanut butter)
at times you don't see them for days and then
4-5 days in row.
In the winter they do hold up in a marshy-bamboo hedge-powerline shrub setting next to us.
I still haven't seen their nests, someday I will run across a sock looking nest and hope I
have a camera.
Very nice pics guys!!
Nice Shots Everyone!! Dave the Cowbird couple picture is awesome, Hack nice variety at your feeder's today.
Nice one adel! Speaking of American Robins they told me they have them all year round down the shore.
What kind of duck is that, WaterCan?
I'm sure someone will come along who can tell us.
An escaped domesticated farm duck, derived from Mallard. Friendly, because it knows (or thinks it knows) that you have some bread ;-)
Resin
Lovely duck....love the hairstyle!
LoL!
- Thank you Resin!
Great pics everyone!
Love the ducks WC and Tiger!
Duc, Those Bushtits have such pretty eyes and that is a good catch on the Eagle! Congrats having the Flicker come in.
Not the clearest photo, but this is the first time I've seen a yellow-shafted Northern Flicker here.
I'd say it's an intermediate or hybrid; the malar stripe ("moustache") is red, as in Red-shafted, rather than black as in 'pure' Yellow-shafted, and it doesn't have a red spot on its nape, though it does have the browner face of Yellow-shafted.
Resin
Thank you Resin. I sure appreciate your input.
I'm now seeing Yellow-rumped Warblers in the yard. Unfortunately my bird watching has to be done from the inside as we're having heavy rains here today and tomorrow.
Tiger, your little guy is adorable!!
They are just the cutest little birds! According to NWF "Field Guide to Birds of North America", they are one of the lightest of our birds. At .18 oz. they are lighter than some hummingbirds. Amazing!
Very sweet! Thanks for the info tiger!
Got me a Lifer - Ya Hoo. This is the first time I've ever seen a Brown-headed Nuthatch.
I've been seeing this little bird for a while, but never had my camera. It was pouring rain, but it still paid a visit to a feeder. I was on my porch about 25 yards away..
Of course, the House Sparrows are always around.
Hack
Congrats bltefft! It's always exciting to add to the life list!
Thanks tigerlily,
You're so right, kinda reminds me of collecting baseball cards as a youngster, how thrilling it was to get a new card.
Hack
Nice shot tiger!!
Congratulations Hack!
Oh Hack, that's a great one to get!
Nice shot!
