Hi Everyone, Thanks so much for all the great shots in the last thread. If you would like to look back here is the link. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1049979/
I was so surprised to see this guy at the Wetlands Institute in Stone Harbor while I was by myself last Monday. The beautiful Tricolored Heron.
DAILY PICS VOL. 253
Pretty shots, Pelle. Hard to catch a Yellow-rumped sitting still.
I love the heron. I don't have one on my list, although I've seen them. I only started my list this year, so have seen a lot of birds I don't have on it.
I put up a Bluebird box in mid-summer because that was when I got around to it. Didn't expect any action until next spring, but a pair seems to have taken possession. They are on it and in and out all day for the past couple of weeks.

Beautiful start Pelle...thanks for the new thread...love that Tricolored Heron.
Red...it looks like your Blues have claimed that nestbox, you will probably have babies next spring!
Dirt...Wow...I've never seen the Cormorants in a Pine tree...very cool!
Here is a female or immature White-crowned Sparrow...they have such a beautiful song and are among the happiest birds around!
Good shots Rose. And thanks for the info on the immature white crowned.
Looks like it Hack
Pelle, you sure picked a beautiful heron to start us off! Then to see two and the snowy-wow! What a sight for you to see. Great photos of the cormorant and warbler too!
Reddirt, that is a beautiful BB! Glad to hear they're already staking out the house for spring.
Dirt, your cormorants are also beautiful! Poor little flicker looks soaked! Your spotted towhee is a beauty. I can't ever get ours to sit still.
Rose, cute sparrow and BB! Love the wp photo!!
Pelle & Hack, cute sparrows!
The Brewers Blackbirds seem to be taking over the nut feeder, but I think they're beautiful.
Great pics duc! I love those White Pelicans and Blackbirds.
Since I didn't take my camera on the walks I wanted to show you a picture of a Surf Scoter. It was a new bird for me and quite close to shore.
Aren't they cool looking? You can see part of the red feet through the water.

Pelle...that is a gorgeous shot of the Savannah, glad you got to see the Scoter also!
Hack...congrats on the new bird!

Nice ones red!
That shot of the Savannah Sparrow is awesome, Pelle. Love your upside down Goldfinch too, Rose!
Wonderful photos on this and the previous thread. Pelle, I'm so envious of your wonderful birding trips to the wetlands and I agree with GP about that great shot of the Savannah Sparrow.
Rose, your shots are always superb. I love the one of the Blue Jay.
And speaking of envy, duc, how cool is that to have a Bald Eagle casually sitting in a tree that you can view from above.
Wonderful Osprey Pix, red.
