Nice Photos All! I counted 8 Dark-eyed Junco's in the back yard today. I,m hoping they stick around, I was also wondering if they frequent feeder's? These lil guys let me get good close-ups for some reason.

Hey duc, get to the back of the queue. GP is already arranging to send the Buntings west - all the way west across the Pacific. Fabulous birds, GP.

Beautiful shots on this thread everyone...really outstanding!! I must confess I am moocho jealous of GP's Painted Buntings...I sure would love to see one someday.

I'm gonna finish this thread off with a few of our backyard birds and then will start the new thread.

The Red-winged Blackbirds showed up a few days ago after being absent for several weeks...here is an adult male.

Not a great shot but here is an adult female...even though they nested on our farm this year I rarely see the females.

Here is a male juvenile...they are just as noisy as the adult male...go figure! LOL!

As I was taking pics yesterday in the backyard I saw hundreds of Robins flying south. Last year we had several that spent the winter here. They used to be the first sign of spring!

edited for grammar!

We have several Eastern Bluebirds that come to the yard everyday...I didn't think it would ever happen and I am always overjoyed to hear them talking to each other. Here is my favorite bird...the female Blue.

Now on to the new thread...I will be back with a link to it...

Burd, I get lots of Juncos all winter, mostly the Oregon type and they love the feeders. They often feed on the ground and I think eat the little seeds that are not the favorites of some of the others (ie not black oil sunflower).
