before they bloom?

My Naked Ladies are just getting their new foliage, and they won't bloom till next summer. I would imagine these will bloom about the same time, but I'm just guessing!

I imagine, It hasn't been to long since mine bloomed. Maybe a month and half.
They are the prettiest red, I think they are like the pinks, just a different color.
Also called a Lysoris or simmilar to that I will look it up if you wish.

I think I've seen pix of those, RRM----are they kind of "spidery"?

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Yes, that is another name for them
They are a pretty red. Like all pretty flowers they just don't last long enough.

Check the bottom of this page out it really explains what is going on with the funky bulbs which are actually the seeds of the crinum plant.

So now our Funky Bulbs are South African radicals? Sorry, I just couldn't resist.
I read through the link and it sure explained a lot. Wow, what a fun plant. I'm still going to call them funky bulbs, even though those aren't bulbs but fleshy seeds that just can't resist sprouting. Kind of sound like tribbles. (Star Trek the original series, episode "Trouble with Tribbles". )
They'll be no tribble at all.
LOL!
Thanks for finding and sharing that link, Marie.

Last but certainly not least, a sort of side view. And something to look forward to. They prolly won't bloom for the first couple of years, but are worth the wait. : - )
Enjoy!
